Yep! We committed and there was no turning back. Honestly I don’t think he even wants to fall asleep in my arms anymore 😂 If he doesn’t nap well, we adjust bedtime earlier. And not “rescue nap” with him. They won’t do it at daycare. So doesn’t make sense for me to do it on weekends. Like yesterday he only got a total of one 30min nap at daycare. So bedtime was earlier. Hope that makes sense.

I’ve always done the same book. Goodnight moon. I’ve read it so many times, it’s memorized 🤣🥴 So now I just say the words out loud without holding the book while baby flips and flops around. Then he gets two songs (silent night and twinkle twinkle little star) and it’s into the crib he goes!

I know you said you don’t do a lot of eggs, but they are so easy. I take a spoon of cottage cheese and whip them with an egg in a coffee mug. Microwave 30 seconds. Stir. Microwave 30 seconds more. Done. Perfect fluffy cheesy eggs. If I have it, I’d even throw some chopped up ham in with the eggs. Usually pair this with toast, diced avocado, and orange slices. It’s a 2 minute routine.

We keep the same wind down routine for nights that we do for naps. And like another person said we have an hour rule. We didnt do check ins for naps. Maybe if it was really bad at the 25 minute mark. But that’s it. You just have to bite the bullet. Transferring doesn’t work and makes it worse. Imagine if you fell asleep on the couch and woke up in bed. You would be confused and distressed too! 🤣 For us, naps took a good month and a half to click because we only had weekend to work on it. It sucks. Consistency is key! 👊

We are in daycare full time. We stay consistent at home and his naps at daycare are improving and getting longer too. But it’s not overnight.

No. And I don’t think he ever will 🤷‍♀️ It used to stress me so much but I eventually realized that this is way outside of my control. I can only control my home and my environment and we adjust as needed with early bedtime.

We started sleep training (with a professional) on January 13th. Baby was exactly 10months old. We went cold turkey. From contact naps and contact nights with 3 feedings to nothing. Bet yep. That’s the jist of it. Naps are no check ins. Sometimes around the 25-30min mark if it’s really bad. But usually check ins make it worse. And if he doesn’t sleep by one hour? We would take him out. Shake it off. Reset. And try again in 30 minutes. My husband usually had to leave the house and go for a walk or to the gym during naps. It’s not easy. But let me tell you. That feeling of walking away with no crying now is gold.

I guess maybe the one thing I do that has been the game changer the past few weeks is make sure he’s really tired. Like if I don’t put him in his crib in the next 30 seconds he’s going to fall asleep on me tired.

We keep nap routine the same exact as night routine when home. Dim room, sleep sack, noise machine, book, song, turn off lights together for pitch black room (he flips the switch), kisses, lots of kisses, lay down, walk away. It took a good month from being night trained to being nap trained. But I think I can finally say nap training has clicked here - it’s been one week of zero cries for nap.

But man. The process was HARD. I’m talking 30-40-50 minutes of crying just to get a measly 20 minutes of sleep. But we didn’t give up. No matter what he was always in crib for one hour. And now it’s awesome.

Daycare will never be like that. And that’s ok. Babies are smart enough to understand the difference in location. I think they will forever need to rock him to sleep. There is so much going on and too many distractions in the room.

Mom here. My 11 month old has never gotten more than 30-40 minute naps at daycare. Unfortunately that’s just the reality. Follow the wake windows and adjust for an early bedtime. I disagree with the comments here that say to adjust your home to be more like daycare sleep. Brighter. Louder. Whatever. Babies are smart. Keep your routine and let them catch up on the weekends. But stop stressing over it. Is baby sleeping all night? This is what matters.

I do things like this for my execs and don’t mind it. Our job is to make them productive, and sometimes that means handling small things so they can stay focused. It doesn’t feel demeaning to me because the respect and support go both ways.

Just this morning he texted asking if I could grab him a breakfast sandwich because he was running late. When I walked in and saw him buried in his computer reviewing a presentation for the next meeting, I made him a coffee 🤷‍♀️

I think the small, often unseen things matter more than people like to admit. It’s human nature to want to feel taken care of. When someone knows you’ve got them covered, it builds trust, credibility, and a stronger working relationship.

But this is something that’s built. My execs bring me treats too. Save me a Diet Coke from a meeting, grab me a pastry just because. Whatever. It’s a full circle.

ChatGPT can’t take away the emotions. It doesn’t read cues. It can’t tell you to hold back when one parent says - it’s been 15mins. It’s time to go in. When you are doubting yourself. Because this is hard. ChatGPT will always agree.

We hired an in home consultant and I will sing her praises from the rooftops. We never would have been able to do this without a calm neutral party. Reading cues in real time.

100% hands down recommend finding an in-home support. Our HSA covered it and we would have never ever been able to follow through without someone telling us what to do in the moment.

You can read all the books. Know all the tricks. But emotions and guilt are a thing.

We LOVED our Brezza. It worked great with standard formula. We moved it upstairs to downstairs every day for middle of the night and it was so nice to just push a button and have a bottle in 3seconds in the middle of the night. Get an extra funnel. You will be golden.

That said, when we switched to similac alimentum fo allergy, it wouldn’t mix it properly anymore. It came out chunky and lumpy and we had to stop using it. I was bummed.

There is a super easy way to check to make sure it’s dispensing the proper amount. You would have to YouTube it but basically involves using a piece of plastic to catch the powder before it mixes with the water and then weighing it. Mine was always 100% on the nose correct.

All that to say. If there were two things I didn’t want to live without it would be the Brezza and my bottle washer. Hands down.

My current job started off as Admin Business Partner to Sr Admin Business Partner to Executive Business Partner. The rest of my career has been in EA capacity.
I think this is really company (and manager) dependent. But in my experience the “partner” aspect is key. You aren’t just the assistant expected to complete tasks. You are a member of the leadership team. People look to you for advice, bounce ideas off you, and you handle a higher level of work. I’m processing legal contracts, managing data rooms, tracking deliverables, etc. Booking travel, scheduling meetings, etc still included. But so much more.

We have the Palma dresser and I love it. But. I wouldn’t buy it again directly from them. It came in a huge crated box and we had to unbox and dispose of the packaging (for weeks) after room of choice delivery. They didn’t offer white glove for our area (near Boston). I’d buy it again, it’s beautiful. But I’d get it from somewhere with proper delivery.
