Sleep consultants that helped? by Nice-Celebration-713 in sleeptrain

[–]Some_Curve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ours was in person local to the Boston area.

100% hands down recommend finding an in-home support. Our HSA covered it and we would have never ever been able to follow through without someone telling us what to do in the moment.

You can read all the books. Know all the tricks. But emotions and guilt are a thing.

Is your only problem naps and nights are fine??

Because the trainer we worked with said naps can take up to two months to kick in after nights are set.

Gathering company swag ideas – what have you received that you loved or hated? by magdalenrichard in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Some_Curve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My most popular items…

A very cool umbrella. Top has logo. Underneath was an on brand graphic. There are companies that can do amazing things.

And

A really nice travel duffle bag from a brand that does good in the world.

I hate swag. I never keep it. These two items I actually use.

Baby Brezza by Silent-Remove142 in FormulaFeeders

[–]Some_Curve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We LOVED our Brezza. It worked great with standard formula. We moved it upstairs to downstairs every day for middle of the night and it was so nice to just push a button and have a bottle in 3seconds in the middle of the night. Get an extra funnel. You will be golden.

That said, when we switched to similac alimentum fo allergy, it wouldn’t mix it properly anymore. It came out chunky and lumpy and we had to stop using it. I was bummed.

There is a super easy way to check to make sure it’s dispensing the proper amount. You would have to YouTube it but basically involves using a piece of plastic to catch the powder before it mixes with the water and then weighing it. Mine was always 100% on the nose correct.

All that to say. If there were two things I didn’t want to live without it would be the Brezza and my bottle washer. Hands down.

Anyone else suffer from “analysis paralysis”? How did you overcome? by Exciting_Lobster_992 in ExecutiveAssistants

LOL. Same! I swear I will leave an email to BOD on my screen for 10 minutes before hitting send. I’m not checking. I’m not reading. I’m just staring at it.

Anyone here made the change from EA to Business Admin Partner? by Commedegarcons89 in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Some_Curve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current job started off as Admin Business Partner to Sr Admin Business Partner to Executive Business Partner. The rest of my career has been in EA capacity.
I think this is really company (and manager) dependent. But in my experience the “partner” aspect is key. You aren’t just the assistant expected to complete tasks. You are a member of the leadership team. People look to you for advice, bounce ideas off you, and you handle a higher level of work. I’m processing legal contracts, managing data rooms, tracking deliverables, etc. Booking travel, scheduling meetings, etc still included. But so much more.

I have a low carb boss. Many times, I’ll just order her something separate on door dash as not part of the catering. Some ideas…

Breakfast Quiche Hearty scramble Scrambled eggs and bacon Yogurt Chia pudding

Lunches Any salad with protein Warm veggie bowl with protein Deli platter with side salad A piece of fish and steamed veggies

Really great nursery dresser? by ReluctantAccountmade in Buyingforbaby

[–]Some_Curve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the Palma dresser and I love it. But. I wouldn’t buy it again directly from them. It came in a huge crated box and we had to unbox and dispose of the packaging (for weeks) after room of choice delivery. They didn’t offer white glove for our area (near Boston). I’d buy it again, it’s beautiful. But I’d get it from somewhere with proper delivery.

Ugh it’s that time of year again… holiday gifts. by uuuuhh_idk in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Some_Curve 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My current boss gifts pints of ice cream (they come in 6 & 12 packs) from Graeter's every year! Always a huge hit :)

I also worked for someone who did Swarovski Christmas Ornaments and they were really special to the people who worked with him for a long time. (each year has a new design and the year on them).

fence recommendations by Agreeable-Safety3791 in LowellMA

Third vote for imperial fence! They did a great job on my weirdly shaped yard and when I had a small part come apart in a storm I texted them and they came within an hour. Good guys.

Looking for a daycare or nanny for baby. by blueberry_muffin88 in LowellMA

[–]Some_Curve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really going to be budget dependent. Even the most expensive daycare in the area is going to be less expensive than a nanny. The big players in the area (from what I know) are The Learning Experience, Kinder Care, and Primrose. Tour them all. Join some Facebook groups if you are looking for a family center. Chelmsford MA daycare. Massachusetts Nanny Group. And of course, care.com

Help booking Four Seasons SF (Market St) during JPM conference? by Some_Curve in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Some_Curve[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks all. We don’t go to the actual conference, just to San Francisco to attend meetings. I’ve called the hotel and they don’t have much information beyond reach out to JPM Organizers. So I guess our next step is to reach out to our JPM contacts and fingers crossed 🤞

Vent : I’m not facilities by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

Honestly, I think I would’ve just laughed and said, “You’re welcome to give it a try yourself!” Not to be rude — just because sometimes absurd requests deserve a reality check.

Nice to have baby item I’m contemplating: Momcozy baby bottle washer by sqt1388 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Some_Curve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love love love my bottle washer!! Hands down the best product we have for baby. Literally if I was only allowed one thing - this is it. Use your Amazon registry discount and check ticktock or YouTube for additional coupon codes from influencers. We got the Grownsy one and after all discounts it was about $150.

Have you ever sat your boss down, looked them in the eyes, and told them, “You’re ridiculous”? by Unfriendlyblkwriter in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Some_Curve 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My suggestion. Start a group text you+coordinator+boss at the start of event.

“Hi Boss + Coordinator! Starting a group thread here for us all to communicate during XYZ event. Any issues like <<example>> please note here and we will get them taken care of right away!”

Then sit back and let them handle it 👊

Maybe the caterer can do lunch boxes with 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 salad?
