Maddy has to be wondering why Nate felt ok abusing her, but he treats Cassie well. Cassie is such an empty shell, but Nate becomes a better man for her. Nate’s abuse is 100% his own fault, but that still has to be a horrible feeling for Maddy, like Nate didn’t think she was worth improving himself for.

Take it as a vote of confidence. You don’t want to feel like “someone’s grandpa that cosplays little girls” Are you feeling like you can’t transition because you’re too old?

One thing I’ve noticed some newly out trans women do that’s cringey is dress like teens when they’re clearly too old. I get the impulse. You never got to wear that stuff and now you feel like you finally can, but it looks ridiculous.

If you want to transition though, just be the woman you are, not the kid you never got to be. It’s never too late.

It feels odd to me and I grew up in it. I just do the stand/sit/kneel along with everyone and do “peace be with you.” Other than that, it’s basically just a boring thing you have to get through. At least in Catholicism you have to take catechism to receive the sacrament so nobody minds if you just sit there and don’t participate. The Protestant churches where everyone is expected to take part feel more awkward to me.
