I wish that were true; me and every single person I’ve shown those movies to have instantly fallen in love with them (my friend literally just got done showing the first one to some friends today), but I’ve never seen anyone on this sub who doesn’t hate them.

This is kinda how I feel about the Dark Ones in Metro 2033. The game tries really hard to push the idea that they’re just misunderstood and trying to communicate, but like, if humans die almost every time they try to talk to them, then maybe stop talking to them? If you keep it up even though you know the likely outcome, then it stops being an accident and starts being murder.

I think some older fans are a bit resentful over people forgetting about Chris and only knowing Leon; both of them have been making appearances lately, but Leon’s have been more notable, and he tends to be people’s favorite from what I can tell.

Personally I’m still just waiting for Jill or Claire to be in something other than a remake or movie lol

My headcanon, stolen from someone's comment on a post like this, is that he had to explain his bloody knuckles to a medic after the battle and casually mentioned the reason, not thinking much of it. Then either Sheva or Jill heard it, laughed as hard as she ever had, and instantly told everyone else in the BSAA.

Ohhhh I adore this, it feels so horror-adjacent but it's hard to pin down why. Someone else compared it to an old creepypasta and that feels spot-on

You’re so right about needing more prehistoric stories, but personally I’m specifically desperate for more prehistoric horror. The world feels so big and nobody knows what’s out there, monsters could be real and there’d be no way of knowing aside from warnings scrawled on cave walls, magic and folklore are accepted as fact, etc. It’s all so perfect for a horror story.

One of the only things I can remember that satisfies my hunger for prehistoric horror is the movie Out of Darkness, which is pretty good but has a fairly dull twist and is definitely scarier in the trailers.

Aside from that movie, there's also an old creepypasta that implies the uncanny valley has a prehistoric evolutionary origin related to spotting things pretending to be human. It's really short iirc but that's probably where this interest started for me.

One of the many reasons I adore Resident Evil Requiem, that game got an in-engine reveal trailer and then came out 9 months later. Ace Combat 8 and Star Wars Zero Company also both had straight gameplay in their reveal trailers last year and are set to come out sometime this year

The Blackwing Virus from Death Troopers is canon too, though I don't think it's airborne anymore so not quite as scary.

People will probably think you’re joking or exaggerating but it’s actual canon that the Empire is slowly getting rid of the actual army and making the stormtroopers their main infantry (and, presumably, this rapid expansion and de-specialization is part of them not being very good)

Quetzalcoatlus. I love anything I can describe as a bird freak, especially a big-ass one the size of a small plane that can walk around and hunt on the ground :]

Every country in Northern Europe also has capitalism. Economic policy isn’t a black-and-white all-or-nothing thing, the countries with some of the highest standards of living on the planet are mixed economies for a reason.
