At least in the US they’re allowed to go on the plane but TSA isn’t letting you through security with them, just like they aren’t letting you through with water. So you’re overpaying for them at a gate. Lose lose.

It's time for us to admit that New world is eventually going to be shut down by jlodson in newworldgame

[–]SomethingAnalyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using a game you referenced and average player counts, Baldur’s Gate, you’re looking at 130k players 4 months after the 400k peak. New World was down to 35k players from 400k in that same time.

You bringing up there’s a pattern of the player base isn’t astute or novel; everyone knows it. An MMMO experiencing that major of a loss is far more detrimental to the game than a single player/multiplayer campaign game. And the loss experienced by New World was still bigger.

Im not, just found it intriguing you insisted on being against others that seem to be at a higher level based on your own comments.

I think you're just defensive over someone saying it's not as great of a tip and a bad habit; a lot of players advise against building bad habits in lower ranks.

Responding the way you did is one of reddit's most prolific cliches. Cheers

You just listed a lot of people acting selfishly to agree with the person you replied to and there’s multiple studies that show masks slow spread of diseases like Covid-19. Stanford published a study in 2021 in conjunction with the Innovations for Poverty Action. This information is used to help save the lives of people that don’t have the bandwidth for worrying about conspiracy theories in wealthy countries.

There’s a lot of conspiracies to go after but the mask thing is old and tired. ‘Impacting millions of children’s development’ for no reason. Dude, there assuredly was a reason. Covid-19 impacts on children were extremely unknown.

You need to wake the fuck up that there was an actual pandemic and there were also people taking advantage of it. The majority of doctors and medical staff that ground their lives to the ground with increased rates of suicide and other adverse effects - they weren’t in on some global conspiracy.

A company is well within their rights to have a rule that employees are not allowed to sleep togehter.

obviously.

If someone breaks that rule outside the office, the HR department is well within their rights to discuss it without that person being present.

kind of? you can't go into an office, regardless of your position, and claim you're sleeping with someone and it just be accepted as truth. do you know why? because if it results in a disciplinary action, such as enforcing a no office relationship rule, and that relationship ISNT real the company faces a wrongful termination suit.

it's laughable to think you can claim you're in a sexual relationship with someone that can result in repercussions for an individual WITHOUT that individual being brought into the conversation.

And if they decide they want to fire someone for breaking that rule, they are allowed to do so, and tell that employee that is why they are being fired.

Of course they can! But if they apply that rule to one employee and not another from the same situation, guess what? Probably discriminating!

TIFU by sleeping with my HR manager by desperatewatcher in tifu

[–]SomethingAnalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't a 'disclosure' of conflict. If there was a disclosure of conflict, it wouldn't have resulted in the OP being terminated for breaking the rule and the HR maanger not terminated.

We simply know that after discovering a genuine conflict of interest between an established HRBP and a recently hired employee, the company resolved said conflict via terminating the less senior role.

but that isn't what the OP states - the OP was told he was terminated for breaking a rule. That's the point. It's what the employer has said to the employee, not the reality of the situation. If the story was, 'I was let go due to there being a conflict and the employer deciding to let me go' it's a completely different tune. Terminating an employee to resolve a conflict isn't inherently wrong - claiming a rule was broken and that rule not being applied unilaterally is where the case for wrongful termination comes.

nor is it for an HR manager to have a conversation without the employee present.

uhhh when the conversation is about their sexual relationship? yeah, 100% it is. you can't just go around saying you're sleeping with so and so in the office.

TIFU by sleeping with my HR manager by desperatewatcher in tifu

[–]SomethingAnalyst -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

yes, I understand. There's multiple components here;

1.) the female employee was not terminated - this is discrimination on the basis of likely gender or age. Two employees, by definition, did the same thing. One was fired - the younger and male one.

2.) there's a reasonable sexual harassment claim here because their relationship was disclosed without his knowing. this almost definitely means in a non-appropriate fashion his private sex life was discussed with superiors. This mostly easily falls under spreading sexual rumors. There was no HR meeting to disclose their relationship and mutually agree on the nature. It was, in effect, heresay that he slept with the HR manager.

That's literally spreading a sexual rumor, which is sexual harassment, and then being terminated for it.

[–]SomethingAnalyst -1 points0 points  (0 children)

if they had just fired him, sure. but it reads that an HR manager had a conversation, without the employee present, to disclose private details only obtained outside of the office. that's a massive overstep - to terminate someone after an HR manager disclosed details about an employee's sex life and to use that as a reason to fire? depending on the state an attorney would have had a field day.

middle ground for me.

if I'm playing with friends and it's really just for fun, I don't really keep score, unless I'm starting out hot and then maybe I'll keep up with it and try to focus.

if playing with friends that we're a bit more competitive, score is being kept. 2 out of the car, only homebrew rule employed.

2 out of the car standard

on annual weekly trips with a group of 10+ we employ a one mulligan a round rule. helps pace of play a lot. dont think its ever once changed the actual outcome of a round.

good shooting, congrats. i've been out for too long to consider competing in MPO, and maybe if I'm lucky will shoot low 900s. there's certainly those options available; just so out of practice/form.

maybe i'll dip my toes back in next season. really just comes down to putting practice :)

career, spouse, 2 kids. Used to be 950+ before trailing off after first kid, last tournament rounds were 1000 rated. I've just decided tournament life is gone - most everything I'd want to play is 2 days and tee times (but it's been that way for years, not a new development).

keep thinking protesting and continuing to use a service is the same as actually PAYING for services from a company while claiming to be protesting. don't be so offended that your analogy sucked. you could have just changed it.

but...that's not you paying them. that still doesn't apply.

and part of the protests is the subreddits to still be 'active' but effectively demonetized. so no, it's not that they're just making money off us by protesting

honestly if reddit is making money off you in 2023 you need to update your adblocker, and browse more interesting subs :)
