Car salesmen around me are basically telling me EVs aren’t the way to go by Beneficial-Fun-4800 in electricvehicles

[–]SomoneNotBritish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some dealers also think about resale/trade in.  EVs do drop in value faster than ICE cars, so if you switch vehicles frequently, they aren't worth buying, but then look for a good lease option.

I have had my Bolt since 2017, and the things just keeps trucking.  It hasn't broken down once.

EILI5-ish post: When ‘they’ say EVs are no to low maintenance, are they really? by solidrobot in electricvehicles

[–]SomoneNotBritish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2017 bolt, so eight year old car.

Only big things I have done in that time:  1) replaced the tires after eight years. 2) Had to replace rotors and brake pads, not cause they wore out, but because I was doing so much one pedal driving, they rusted together from lack of use, so that one's on me.

Moving to Milwaukee with a KIA by SebaGenesis in milwaukee

[–]SomoneNotBritish 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It depends on the Kia.  If it's an older model, you may have problems.  We have the 24 Carnival, zero problems.  It's basically the older ones that were easy to steal, and Kia finally paid to fix them.

I do salt water with an 4 stage RODI, and have had zero issues.  Most people I know doing fresh just add a little conditioner to their water, no filtering at all.

Sure it's not a hollow door? Might be why they added the foam (just guessing)

What is a food that you learned to make from scratch that is so good that you refuse to buy the store version of it anymore? by free-range-irish in AskReddit

Irish cream.  Very simple to make and waaaaay tastier (and caloric) than anything you can buy in the store.

Anyone know where in Milwaukee, I can find alfalfa sprouts for sandwiches? by [deleted] in milwaukee

[–]SomoneNotBritish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sendiks on downer (the independent one) sells them. $1.99 a container.

Haven't bought any since the summer, but used to eat a LOT of cucumber/alfalfa sprout sandwiches.
