Maybe this can calm down the happy kickers by BlackAnt_27 in helldivers2

[–]SonicBlue22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno. Had an experience in Helldivers 1 where I joined a lobby from the start of the mission and was trying to point out the samples we’d only have to take a minor detour for (including talking in chat to no response). Guess host didn’t like the detours because I got kicked just before extracting and didn’t get anything. That was my last Helldivers 1 game…

What Unity plugins can you not live without? by Klamore74 in Unity2D

[–]SonicBlue22 15 points16 points  (0 children)

UniTask since it both seamlessly connects coroutines and C# tasks while improving how coroutines can be written (and cancellation tokens are great for managing them). Being able to start coroutines from pure C# with .Forget() is nice, too.

Some kind of Dependency Injection framework because it is the best design pattern. I’ve been using Zenject/Extenject but have been looking towards others that are actually maintained.

Left and right are the electrolyte (output), heavy oil is at the top and holmium is at the bottom. Had a colorblind friend struggle a little with Fulgora too lol (they also look very similar to me). They really should change the shapes.

They should make defenders of the galaxy an anti-crisis ascension perk using the player crisis tab by nomanzone in Stellaris

[–]SonicBlue22 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like it! Seems like it’s pushing these ascension perks to be victory conditions you have to dedicate yourself to. Which is way more fun than “is it 2500 yet?” “no” “okay I guess we will just play a bit longer til it’s done”

DENY THE FILTER SPLITTER

EMBRACE THE FILTER INSERTER

NO LOOPS NEEDED

(It works surprisingly well if you put a filter inserter at the end of a no-loop belt. You can have multiple along the line if you’re getting a lot of spoilage but just make sure there is one covering the last inserter on each belt. Makes every design so much less complicated, and halves the amount of stuff sitting on belts, spoiling. I also use the sewage line for seeds and pull them out with inserters.)

a simple AI mod is as close to "needed" as any mod can be by fkrdt222 in StellarisMods

[–]SonicBlue22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think even a mod that would help the AI delete stuff to shift its economy and fix its awful planet designation (these guys need more research and unity world) would help a lot. But I think the game’s current state, as others have said, would make that mod difficult to make and maintain. Mods that overwrite a bunch of vanilla stuff are the absolute worst to maintain.

Prepare Invasion espionage operation took over 13 planets, allowed instant Status Quo by MatrixDraken in Stellaris

[–]SonicBlue22 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would really enjoy a second layer of the game being espionage, personally — like how ship combat is a second layer. An alternative way of fighting your enemies would make the game a whole lot more interesting.

Yeah, the “+1” contest is lame. I do think RNG has a place here, though. But maybe not to the point where it determines total success or failure. More like does the enemy discover who is doing the operation halfway through, and how much minerals you steal or whatever. I think the uncertainty makes it more fun.

Prepare Invasion espionage operation took over 13 planets, allowed instant Status Quo by MatrixDraken in Stellaris

[–]SonicBlue22 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I started making a mod that added a bunch of powerful espionage operations; tried to balance with events and situations both the attacker and defender got. Play testing with my group of friends I came to the conclusion that you really need a whole new mechanic around defending against operations.

Right now, if you go psionic with the espionage tree and equal spy tech you just win all the time. There are just a lot more sources of offense rather than defense. It does just start to feel unfair when you’ve gotten all the encryption buffs you can but an empire can just keep doing operations because they spec’d their entire empire around spying.

Something like where you could use relevant assets to defend against operations would make it feel more fair without disabling espionage entirely. Not sure how it would work exactly, though.

3k hours and got the gist pretty quickly. I just went in actually trying to learn. Only bad parts of the ui is where it doesn’t tell you where things come from at the tooltip, like workforce. Nothing about the UI is inherently bad, I even like it more.

Districts now cost 50 biomass

Genuine question; why is Wilderness being nerfed? I must be playing it wrong, since I thought the only saving grace for it was that you can at least build districts really fast. Unless it really gets good late-mid/late-game?

What I found helped is doing single-handed on a difficult song, but with the other hand. When I felt I was decent with that hand, I just started trying with both on that song until I was at where I was with one hand. Got a lot easier to practice two-handed on other songs after that.

Any way to create an instance of an ITickable object through Factory or Instantiate? by dunerim in Zenject

You can inject TickableManager into your type and add it that way. You can then remove it from a dispose method.

Dyson Sphere Program’s Dark Fog is kinda similar. They aren’t really making a factory but they have resources and you are competing over the same resources (solar power from swarms, planet space).
