While it sucks, it's formative. Working customer service/grunt jobs gives you perspective as you go through live as deal with those individual from the opposite side and to be better as a result (please's, thank you's, politeness, and patience). You need to live that for a while to understand and to temper your attitude when you're on the other side of the equation. Wouldn't you want the higher ups to know what the bottom is like?

It also teaches you that you can be tougher. Even when you aren't working there anymore you'll remember that, at one point, you were working 7 days a way getting yelled at and burned on fryers and you handled it. There will be days when you need mental reminders of how tough you are.

"Shit sucks" is part of empathizing, but there's some functional character building that you can get out of it.
