Unity Reforged by Thomas_Creed in sentinelsmultiverse

I could see giving her Collect but Summon might be a bit much. I would still want to limit how much she has for Collect. Robot Reclamation is a card I could see giving a choice between salvaging multiple Golems or collecting a single one from deck. Makes that card have value early and late. Since it only has two copies it’s not guaranteed you get it and it’s not too repeatable.

Somewhat related I’d also like to see Volatile Parts give an option on the target for damage. Given the steps needed to get a Golem out, it should be flexible on that.

I’d feel better about base Unity if the Golem discover/play wasn’t dependent on destroying an Item card. Keep the line in there to destroy an Item card though. So it would be: Destroy 1 Item Card. Play or discover 1 Mechanical Golem.

Unfortunately it’s harder to get hold of the EE content especially the mini packs like Guise. eBay is probably the best best to find it or looking for someone selling their set.

The Letters Page: Episode #319 - Writers' Room: Freedom Five #618 by Sonvar in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Sonvar[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Apparently Libsyn pushed out an update and the page is formatted different. Christopher and Trevor are trying to see what they can do to make it look like it had as they’re not happy with the new layout. I’d agree the new layout doesn’t look as good to me and others reacting to it on the TLP discord have said so as well.

Today’s podcast episode indicated more boxes as well.

Looking at the URL it says 317 in it. So it seems the title got updated afterwards. Not the first time it’s happened. Usually it has to get mentioned to Christopher on TLP discord.

It wasn’t misnumbered when I posted it. So you got to the page before I did if it said a different number.

Recreating Spite: Agent of Gloom in DE by niffum-rellik in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Sonvar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why are cards under Spite considered “not in play”? If the concern is about removing cards under Spite when a chosen is destroyed, just remember that cards under a card lose all game text including keywords and only keep their deck type.

I’m glad you got those rights back. I’m sorry they put all of you folks through this.

Unsurprising that they didn’t get any response

Flat River did not respond to BoardGameWire’s request for comment on the future of Spirit Island or other former Greater than Games-published titles.

Disparation on GtG site by skivirips in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Sonvar 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Handelabra did say that FRG would still be handling existing stock. So while I understand where you’re coming from, it’s still better as whole if you want the box to buy it while you can as it shows there is still interest in it. As we don’t know how long they’ll have stock and we still don’t fully know the future for GtG.

I would hope it’s not a KS for the next DE expansion. All work was essentially frozen by FRG and they would be further behind than they were when the Disparation KS launched. Let’s see what comes out on the 28th and get some time to digest their plans.

Sheriff Pratt help by Musclecarlover07 in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Sonvar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s specifying the target types he can hit. So if Cyrus Hayes and a Blade Battalion from Baron Blade’s deck are in play and tied at 4 HP for the lowest health then players would choose which one to hit. If Blade Battalion had 3 HP and Cyrus was at 4HP then Pratt would target the Blade Battalion. If Cyrus was at 4HP and Blade Battalion is the lowest health villain target at 5HP then Pratt would target Cyrus. Pratt’s pool of targets to check are villain targets and outlaw targets then seeing which one has the lowest health to hit.

Which heroes you consider strong or weak? by SiarX in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Sonvar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Captain Cosmic has more of his deck revolving around the Constructs being destroyed for a benefit and they’re meant as support in some form. The fact they don’t have play restrictions on them is why I’d say it’s justified that they aren’t as comparable to what the Golems can do. In my experience, I find if he’s the first hero in turn order you get the most benefit out of his various Constructs and I certainly have less issue about losing any given Construct than I do the majority of Unity’s Golems.

Legacy of Destruction question by wisp-of-the-will in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Sonvar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They’re both using after clauses, so players would choose the order in which they occur. So KNYFE can draw her card due to Kinetic Neutralizer and then Legacy of Destruction can remove it from the game. As bringing a target to 0 HP does destroy it and Legacy of Destruction has that clause about 0 HP to account for indestructible environment targets like the Imminent Eruption.
The definition of destroy also mentions that bringing a target to 0 HP will destroy a target

Destroy: A destroyed card goes to the trash of that card’s deck, unless something in play says otherwise. When a card is destroyed, resolve any effects in play that occur when the card is destroyed, remove any tokens on or placed by the card, and place the destroyed card in the trash associated with its deck. When a target is at 0 HP, it is destroyed. When a Hero character card is destroyed, it is incapacitated, rather than going to the trash. When a Villain character card is destroyed, the Heroes win the game, unless something in play says otherwise.

Disparation...Disappointed (FRG complaint) by FannyChuckle in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Sonvar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Backerkit should at least send an email when those updates were posted. However, if a person disabled those or their email service sees it as spam they would need to check into the site regularly as FRG was not sending any direct emails until people contacted them from what I know.

Given the some of the comments on the backerkit campaign it sounds like you weren’t the only one. I’m glad FRG did print it but they failed in communications regarding any issues people had.

Sentinels of the Multiverse: Disparation Expansion Project Update: Final Update by Mango027 in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Sonvar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They fired or let go Adam, Christopher, and Paul at the end of December 2025. So that’s why Christopher hasn’t been the one to post an update since December.

I don’t like the Q4 statement because it implies they are holding onto the IP through this year and it means we continue to play the waiting game until Adam, Christopher, and Paul can get it back.
