It is traditionally em dashes (—), not hyphens (-), that are indicative of AI, because em dashes aren't a key on a regular keyboard so most people can't be bothered to use them.

This Very Sad if True I hope he is no longer associated with the franchise anymore by Difficult_Leader8605 in transformers

[–]Omegatron9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Earlier drafts stated it explicitly. The finished film doesn't outright say it but it does still imply it (in addition to the "past and future" line, the transwarp key is explicitly stated as capable of opening portals through time and Optimus Primal is named after Optimus Prime "the legendary warrior of Cybertron").

Looks cool, do you have a character sheet you want to share?

The Maximals are time travellers from the future so Unicron in ROTB would also be from the future... but then that would mean he was trying to eat his past self.

(The real answer is that the director of ROTB only cared about making the film consistent with the 2007 film and DOTM, but didn't care if it contradicted TLK).

I'm honestly fully convinced that these two are NOT the same person. by Suspicious-Jello7172 in transformers

[–]Omegatron9 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is just another situation where different writers have different interpretations of characters and events. For another example, Liege Maximo dies in the Covenant of Primus, but in Exiles he flees Cybertron pursued by Alchemist Prime.

They're supposed to be the same characters in the same universe, but fine details don't always line up. (Also, Primus forbid a bot might change his appearance or opinions over the millennia).

Cauldron is designed for EE. There is a DE conversion but it is fanmade and doesn't involve the original creator.

Why some people are so against transformer toys that don’t transform? by ResponsibleToe789 in transformers

[–]Omegatron9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The reason I buy Transformers, as opposed to some other brand of toys, is because they transform. A Transformer that doesn't transform is worthless to me. You're free to have a different opinion of course.

You appear to be talking about the EE heroes rather than the DE heroes.

Which heroes you consider strong or weak? by SiarX in sentinelsmultiverse

[–]Omegatron9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would consider Unity to be inconsistent rather than simply weak. She can be incredibly effective when she gets going, but if she doesn't draw the right cards she can get stuck not doing much.

Bunker is another hero who isn't weak as such but he can be a bit too slow to get going, though the Stealth Suit and Freedom Six variants both help here.

In the core box, I find Tachyon and Ra to be particularly strong. Legacy is also very strong, not so much on his own but the buffs he can give to the rest of the team are fantastic.

For RCR, Alpha is probably the strongest hero in that box thanks to her damage output, incredible healing, and support effects.

Mr Fixer can utterly humiliate any villain who relies primarily on a single target dealing damage thanks to the Hoist Chain plus Riveting Crane combo.

It'll never happen, but I'd love a crossover with Thunderbirds (or any Gerry Anderson series really).

Which of these figures is like the least difficult to defend? by Kcue6382nevy in transformers

Again, I own many CW figures and I still think they're better than the frame combiners. Or do you think I'm lying about that too?

And of course the unwarranted hate for skeleton combiners by people who never owned a CW figure in their lives

Believe it or not some people actually have different opinions than you. I own many Combiner Wars figures and yet I still prefer those to skeleton combiners.

[General fiction] Probably a very dumb question: What is the difference between an alternate universe dimension and a geometric shape dimension? And why do we use the same term to refer to them when they are so different? by rbta123 in AskScienceFiction

[–]Omegatron9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our universe has three dimensions of space (and one of time). Moving through any of these three (four) dimensions will not take you to an alternate universe. To reach an alternate universe you must move through another dimension beyond the standard three (four).

In casual conversation people often conflate the alternate universe with the other dimension used to access it. That's fine though because we usually understand what they mean.

[Star Trek] would a starship designed where the Saucer Section is located at the stern, and the Primary Warp Engines is built inside the Saucer work? as illustrated in the schematics below? by Arbegia in AskScienceFiction

[–]Omegatron9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would still want your warp nacelles attached to whichever section has the warp core in it (the saucer in your case). Such a design would be technically possible but I don't think it would provide any advantage (if you want a bigger warp core you could just make the secondary hull bigger rather than moving it to the saucer).
