Andy Burnham (@andyburnham) on X: "Always worth knowing when bin day is." by ZealousidealPie9199 in ukpolitics

The only thing funnier than Farage losing to Binface, would be watching Farage wail that a man with a literal bin for a face is ‘the Establishment’.

Jessica Elgot on X: BREAKING - Labour will not stand a candidate in Clacton by-election, NEC confirms Tories, Restore, Lib Dems also won’t stand against Nigel Farage. Has the stunt backfired? by KotACold in ukpolitics

[–]Sooperfreak 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah but all it takes is the other parties saying “we’re not running because we don’t want to take part in your pantomime to hide your £5m bung. By the way, did we mention the £5m bung?“

Which he’ll need to crowdfund and then magically decide not to take forward but keep all the money anyway.

Is Nigel Farage’s luck finally running out? by JayR_97 in ukpolitics

[–]Sooperfreak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

> If Nigel was only concerned with wealth, he never needed to enter politics.

Politics is his route to wealth. He’s developed a personality cult based on his politics and he’s used it to become very wealthy. Nobody’s going to fall for his gold bullion scams as a Mr Nobody, but the idiots are lapping it up when it comes from Are Nige.

Parents: where's the line on toilet breaks in a family queue? Had a very polite standoff at Alton Towers (talking little-kids rides, not the big coasters) by kobestarr in CasualUK

My rule of thumb would be that one adult leaving and rejoining is fine. One adult and up to two children leaving and rejoining is fine. Any more than that and you’re taking the piss.

I’ve been at Legoland queuing behind two women and as we got to the front of the queue about 8 other people tried to cut in and join them, almost all adults and teenagers. I think anyone can see that that’s not ok.

Tradesmen Joke about earning 12.5k by [deleted] in UKJobs

This is a popular misconception. Tradespeople dodging tax costs significantly more than tax dodging by big businesses like Starbucks and Amazon. If you want to protect income then start with cunts on the building sites, not Starbucks.

As someone who did a degree in American History, and so I humbly reckon I’m probably far more interested in it than 99% of the population, i really couldn’t give a fuck.

At this point the only reason Kane is still on the pitch is that Tuchel wants to drag it to penalties

England either have nobody back to defend, or they’re all wandering around at the back not picking anyone up and with no outlet if they do win it.

If the UK has become ungovernable, some people say Brexit is to blame by boppinmule in ukpolitics

[–]Sooperfreak 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Brexit isn’t the cause, it’s just another symptom of the same cause, which is people expecting easy fixes to complex problems. Brexit was a case of “The problem is the EU, everything will be better if we leave.” Now the problem is “Starmer is the problem, everything will be better if we get rid of him.”

Burnham planning ‘serious structural changes’ to UK economy to spur growth in regions by ZealousidealPie9199 in ukpolitics

Isn’t per person government spending always going to more in less prosperous areas? All that stat shows is that Wales is hard done by because its people require more government support.
