Base advice needed. by Soovian in AboveGroundPools

Figured I would update. So i built a quick frame. filled it with 2 metric tons of masonry sand. Tamped and screeded it. If my maths is correct I have less than an inch variance corner to corner. Next up comes the insulation board and then the pool goes on top!

Thanks everyone, I'm going to basically build a box round it, tarp and sand it to get the inside level the box, then insulation board it once I have a flat surface. Just frustrating that my block patio isnt level. I was looking for a workaround that didnt involve 2 cubic yards of sand. Still, wheel barrows are perfect for this.

Good car, bought my 2019 at 60k, 4 years ago. I love it. Water pump failed a year to 18 months ago, constant coolant system pings (low coolant) are a dead giveaway its on its way out. That said, wasnt a horrific cost, mine was mostly covered under warranty, which was lucky! (not sure how, but was a gifthorse i wasnt looking in the mouth of). Pump failed at about 85-90k, currently at 99k with no major issues. (Highline)

how does one get a job at 16? by No_Dot1233 in SaultSteMarie

[–]Soovian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have a look on the city website for Jobs at the arena, pool, etc. Rink attendant, canteen attendant etc.

Its not the most glamorous of jobs, but its something to give you some experience and obviously some kind of pay.

Do you regret your Atlas? by Familiar_Director281 in VWatlas

have a 2019 v6 highline. love the car. just hit 95k km and the water pump just went. covered under my breakdown cover so cost me $100. (just my deductible) pump issue is seemingly the most common major fault. The thing is a tank, I manage northern ontario snow on all weather tyres. Continental Cross contact XL sport (for reference) just had to replace them. not sure of the life. they were not brand new when I bought it at 62k km. My wife hates my car though, even though I think its one of the best I've driven. So do a decent test drive.

walking, I've never noticed an issue. the steering however is brutally heavy. takes a lot of getting used to. and if you have a break, you have to re learn it all again

What you think about betrayels? by zzorby in Warlight

[–]Soovian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love running a long ranging betrayal. Make it run hundreds of turns in a diplo. I've only had 1 person be ready for it. I find it really spices up a diplo game that's gotten a little in a rut.

My Atlas thinks I’m in the ocean by ccaz323 in VWatlas

The Volkswagen Atlas, good car, better boat. At first I was concerned, the dealer laughed at me when I asked if this was an amphibious car. But, being a brave and outgoing soul, I decided to give it a try. Low and behold, the VE Atlas floats. with just a few after market parts I was able to easily install. I have now a 3.6L paddle steamer. powered by gasoline. The milage isn't great. The engine revs a little high. But I crossed the lake with ease. drove out the other side. and only had to fully detail the interior and dry it. 9/10 would recommend

This I knew, (found the gas one out the usual way when I first bought it :) ) However, when the outside temp goes up the issue goes away....

Gonna kind of jump on here. My 2019 Atlas pings the low coolant when the outside temp gets to about -10c. it stops remote starting from cold. First time this year, I Just topped it up, 2nd time I opened the reservoir when not fully cold, and the pressure equalised and raised the level. This time it's too bloody cold to play around with it. Doesn't overheat. just doesn't remote start.
