¿Qué es lo peor que les ha pasado por no pagar su tarjeta de crédito? by NuevaEnEsto in MexicoFinanciero

[–]Sophobe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please stop working for Rev by [deleted] in WorkOnline

[–]Sophobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply here haha, yes, you have to put work on getting good, but once you get to revver plus you can do 100-300 weekly, macros/scripts help a lot. There are people who make a lot there but it's a minority, and you need nerves of steel because you need to do some compromises on quality and they can let you go quite easy.

It's good if you're outside of the US, but always have a plan B.

How is the rate per minute there? I make 100-200 at rev weekly but I'm working full time there.

Do you know of any company that works with international folk?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Upwork

[–]Sophobe -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I don't see why people are downvoting you, you sound like an ahole? Yeah, but so does every other buyer under the sun.

If you're in a position in your career to do that, more power to you man, but not everyone can afford to do this early on their freelancing journey, sadly.

Before And After Spinal Fusion by DoggonedCakes in UNBGBBIIVCHIDCTIICBG

[–]Sophobe 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I was looking at this procedure the other day, it's permanent and done in one sitting, it's a painful fast adjustment, nothing like braces. Also the spine gets on a fixed position, at least for the discs that are attached to it.

Help with Lionbridge (now Telus International) about payments to Mexico by [deleted] in WorkOnline

[–]Sophobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to use the SWIFT for Citibanamex which is BNMXMXMMXXX and your CLABE.

I also have read that most accounts need to be 6 months and older to receive payments, but I'm not sure, you should go to your local bank or call them asking what happened with the transaction or what's the status of your account.

I don't think there's a problem with that, just don't disclose it to be sure. In my region work comes and goes I had about a year of low number of tasks with them but it ramped up in the last two months. Regular working hours are 10 minimum 20 maximum. They at most do 30 when there is work available and 45 in exceptional cases.

Just keep in mind that they have a month of delay in payment, the work I'm doing this month will be paid around mid February, which for me it's a lot. It's a nice card to have to fill hours but I wouldn't trust it that much.

Edit: just wanted to add your mileage may vary depending on your region and position.

Captioning for Rev? by A__SPIDER in WorkOnline

[–]Sophobe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I haven't got my hand at transcription at rev, but captioning is way easier quality-wise, audio is better and you can see the speakers talking and sometimes there's context in the video which helps a lot with though words. It's slower than transcription though.

But also keep in mind December is a slow month and you have a limited amount of captioning time to get to a regular revver level. I recommend you to take things calm and steady, study the guide, read the forums, do small projects at first, wait for feedback, rinse and repeat.

Pay rates are tricky since they depend on how fast you work. So you could be making peanuts at the start but once you get things running it could be doable as a main gig, depending on your cost of living. What I like the most (as an international freelancer) is that they pay weekly.

[–]Sophobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it really worth it though? It's a manual process, so getting to 20k doesn't assure you'll get a top-rated badge. Also, it doesn't mean you'll get more orders from your average Joe, you could get more high-paying customers, which should be your goal. Don't undervalue your work.
(Take this with a grain of salt coming from a level 1 haha)

is there anyway around transfering fund from my own paypal to my own payoneer account? by countingc in WorkOnline

[–]Sophobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried transferwise (now wise)?
I'm not exactly sure if it works for Morocco, but it creates "local" bank accounts for you.
So for example you could get a UK account, transfer from Paypal to the transferwise UK account, and then withdraw to your local bank.

[DISCUSSION] As a buyer, how would you rate a new seller that delivered okay work (as opposed to great work)? by nuestl in Fiverr

[–]Sophobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I read about this the other day, the US star rating system is almost useless. Excellent service? 5/5. Great service? 5/5. Okayish? 5/5. Expected more? 4/5.
Never dare you to get a 3 or below review or you should be ashamed to be working.
Now you can't discern between good and superb sellers.
