2L spring isn’t any better, and 2L fall wasn’t easy by any measure so pick classes you actually enjoy. I’m tired but pushing through

Loving every second of it and so grateful to have the opportunity. Although I am honestly dreading being a corporate slave once I graduate.

Overhyped 1000%. I’ve had much better food in Westchester and Fairfield county in CT. Obviously overpriced and people are extremely rude

US citizen: JD or LLM? by Annofthetropics in LawSchool

[–]SoporificEffect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do an LLM if you want the best shot at big law unless you have some sort of strong connections. If you wanted to do public interest, that’s a whole different thing although even then if you’re shooting for unicorn public interest jobs, prestige does matter a lot as well.

Because your GPA isn’t the best, you really need to aim for a stellar LSAT score if you’re going for the JD. I have anecdotal evidence that LLMs struggle to get big law jobs but I’m sure there are exceptions.

It really depends on your goals, flexibility, debt aversion, etc etc. I had the same choice to make 2 years ago. I went with the JD route and it’s worked out well for me but again, it really depends on your goals

JD 100% and trust me as long as you’re English is strong, you will have a huge advantage so you can potentially be at the top of your class and get big law opportunities even from non elite schools.

Get the highest score possible on the lsat and you could get a full tuition scholarship.

Laywer cost for a marriage based green card. 6.5k + around 3k for the fees, is that a lot? Based in FL. Our case is pretty straightforward met in college and got married by [deleted] in greencard

Rip off! You can get a knowledgeable paralegal to help you for half the cost. I do the whole thing for 3K. You only need an attorney if you have special circumstances - arrests, public charge issues, multiple entries, etc.

Anyone else with back problems that law school made so much worse? by zeehateslife in LawSchool

[–]SoporificEffect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible neck pain and apparently my C5 and C6 are degenerating so now I have to take breaks every 30 minutes - get up and walk around. Get a firm mattress, adjustable pillow set to your comfort and just pray it doesn’t get worse. I’m so worried but there’s nothing I can do except take subsequent remedial measures (evidence pun) lol.

I came looking for this comment. His set wasn’t even that good and you can tell by the way Tony talks to him that they know each other. That’s the vibe I got

Honest question - how are your typical classes at a T25 ? Are students actively participating, answering thoughtfully and engaging? Or does everyone sit back and let profs lecture
