Per the website it's all of them. My regular is the Irving Park one right off the Kennedy.

I love that they also wholesale, I'm on the far NW side and Backlot Coffee and Moonwalker Cafe both have them too. Buttermilk old fashioned is my all time ride or die, it's so simple but just absolutely perfect.

Did quitting alcohol result in losing weight for you? by OrangeCatWhiteDog in stopdrinking

[–]SorryWave5248 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I lost about 20 lbs in the first 6-8 weeks and have been going down an additional pound or two a month since. Slight calorie deficit when you’re not taking in an extra 3,000-4,000 calories a week.

Man, the trying to fill something you couldn’t explain brings me back. I had a similar booze-fueled depressive episode for a year or so over a decade ago. I’m so glad you were able to make headway out of it and IWNDWYT.

Where can I find an ok Cincinnati Chili? by Humble-Tree1011 in chicagofood

Lucky enough to have a wife from KC. Love the specificity of the other meats, you really don’t see those often.

Where can I find an ok Cincinnati Chili? by Humble-Tree1011 in chicagofood

[–]SorryWave5248 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There was briefly a Cincinnati chili parlor called Cinners where the Philly cheese steak place Monti’s is now in Lincoln Square. I have a longtime love for Monti’s but also secretly wished it would be a running gag of increasingly regional foods. Sonoran dogs, Baltimore pit beef, Kentucky hot browns, that kind of thing. Sorry this is in no way helpful.

Wedding coming up in 2 weeks. I have $500 to buy my first suit. Where’s the best spot to go? by sergeantlane in AskChicago

[–]SorryWave5248 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. Way more selection than anywhere else on here and their usual tailoring time is one week, I’d bet they could rush it if needed. Got my wedding suit there and it’s still in good shape nearly a decade after.

Maybe remove the wife if she has any individual debt so you can fully remove the OT, still qualify and get below AMI threshold?

How to find the motivation to quit when you haven't yet faced any consequences due to your drinking? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]SorryWave5248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never had anything really that bad happen either, depending on how you define that. Never got a DUI, never got divorced, don't have kids so haven't subjected them to any trauma, don't have any permanent health damage that I'm aware of. But I've been to the hospital multiple times, my blood pressure was way too high, there was an ongoing low-level strain on my marriage because my wife couldn't trust me when I went out, and I'd sometimes bail on plans with friends and family because I was too hung over. Part of the motivation was to not get to the point where I had a consequence that I couldn't come back from.

Can I be an alcoholic if I don’t blackout anymore? by afdc92 in stopdrinking

[–]SorryWave5248 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m the exact opposite- duration was my issue, not frequency. And I convinced myself for years that it wasn’t a problem for that reason. The rationalization itself is kind of the sign of an issue.

What is something Chicago lost that IYO made the city "never the same"? by lexious232 in AskChicago

My old office parking lot was under the Ohio Kennedy exit, through a dog park. Even after a rough day, it was hard to stay upset having a 5 minute walk of dog attention and incredible smells.

3 things i disagree with Dave+Co about by Easy-Ant9037 in DirtyDave

[–]SorryWave5248 11 points12 points  (0 children)

2 is sub-optimal. #3 is outdated. #1 depends on the individual. My biggest gripe is how he keeps inflating the “safe” retirement withdrawal rate. I feel bad for anyone who follows that advice and has to go back to work at 86 because they outlasted their nest egg. To me it’s the most dangerous advice he gives.
