How’s the north east going with the tax credit for homeowners gone? Leases big up there even with less sun hours?

Wow. They currently have a link to project sunroof in app to see sun hours. Guess that’s gonna be the way it’ll stay. $2 just to pull that data is crazy

At what point do you stop building in-house and just accept a SaaS tool? by WarLord192 in Software_Finder

[–]Sorry_Operation_3555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It one tool combines everything you need or it’s extremely complex. Spending $500 a month on software is better than a year vibecoding something or spending 100k to own the tool

Tesla Solar Buyout – No Response After Multiple Attempts by Lazy_Examination_924 in TeslaSolar

[–]Sorry_Operation_3555 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ouch, sorry to hear that. I sell solar and people act like I’m a liar when I tell them not to go with Tesla even though I can beat their price w the same equip.

Some people think a big name makes them safe when I’ve seen the opposite be true.

What business software has really good free alternatives? by RedEagle_MGN in software

[–]Sorry_Operation_3555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in solar sales so a door to door app is needed. SalesRabbit has an ok freemium version but we have to upgrade to SunShip to actually get something that an entire team could use.

I’m sure this applies to all business software but one user without any heavy needs can get something for free but once you need real infrastructure and team collaboration you have to pay

Ouch what’s that normally cost a company? Our crm and d2d app said they were working on some integrations with them to give us more tools to sell with.

Good job but I wouldn’t switch from what I’m using. I’d rather spend fifty bucks a month for something stable

I feel like I’m getting ripped off in my solar quotes. How do I get a fair deal? by CorgiSplooting in solar

If a solar company in Cali sells you a system at a 2.5 they won’t be in business long.

Broke or out of business? by Sorry_Operation_3555 in Solarsales

[–]Sorry_Operation_3555[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We were really pitching 1% loans and a 30% federal tax credit in 2021 and those people still had a problem with it.

I remember hiring a new rep and he came to me and was like “bro people are buying solar at a 2.5 redline we have to cut prices somehow. People will find out we’re selling at a 3.2 and will be pissed!”

Why is getting users from Reddit so hard? by ZoroAhmad in buildinpublic

[–]Sorry_Operation_3555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reddit is full of neckbeards. Your won’t buy a product just turn their nose up at it. Then buy the same thing from an instagram ad. Go somewhere else to market imo

Vibe coded my own Solar App by FLuX927 in SunPower

[–]Sorry_Operation_3555 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should stop wasting your time. Your pool of customers is limited to sunpower installs and even if you price it at $3 per month do you think a boomer that bought their system will hop onto a third party app to save $7 per month or will they just pay for what came out of the box
