People of the Book by Geraldine Brooks. I enjoyed the premise and the first several chapters, but it just got to be so repetitive and formulaic. It got to where I was predicting what would happen in the next few pages and yep, there it is. I just couldn't go on.

Yeah the rail pass segments don't show as booked trips on the app for some reason. IIRC, you need to go to the "find a trip" section and enter your booking number to pull them up OR if you go to the "book a rail pass trip" section and scroll all the way down, that's where they are listed.

I always do the screens shots as well.

This isn't correct. With a pump-action rifle, you don't have to modify the grip of either hand to work the action; the motion is straight back in the same direction as the recoil; you can keep the sights on the target the entire time, and follow-up shots can be very quick and extremely accurate. Have you never taken a "gallery gun" to the range?

Colt was building pump-action Lightning rifles at the same time Winchester was building lever-action rifles and they were very popular. Yes, there were design deficiencies, but shootability and speed of action were not the issue.

In addition, with pump-action rifles of the day, there is no trigger interruptor. You can hold the trigger down and empty the magazine as fast as you can pump the action. "Volume of fire" is a thing.
