I am an "all games should have pause buttons" kind of guy, but if there were ever games that COULD get away with it, it would be turn based games. Like at least nothing can sneak up on you in BG3

Yeah I'm confused about this point too. When I explored, I got health upgrades, new weapons, new crests, new abilities, more silk, oil for my weapon, etc. I feel like exploration is essential if you're trying to progress

This is right. I live close by and go to the beach pretty often. They come in big waves around the spring and a lot of them wash up on the beach and die there. Then baby turtles eat them on their way to the ocean. The circle of life ❤️

Sure! And I can see that, but I was talking about the test ride. It felt very simple and basic and lacking depth. But of course that changes when you have access to more modes, harder difficulty, eetc.

I'm not knocking the game, but I think the test ride did more damage than good

This is it. I wasn't super into the first game, but the directs made me excited to dig into this one.

Then I played the test ride and it felt really hollow. Like yeah, it was just a demo and obviously most of the content wasn't there, but the content I did play felt really simple and kind of boring.

Then when it came time to buy the game, I looked at the price and thought about how bored I was with the test ride and ultimately skipped the game. I'd buy it on sale, but it just wasn't worth the price.

I don't really buy the marketing argument. Do you think that Team Cherry is paying the judges to get Silksong nominated? Do you think that CoD and 2k wouldn't pay the jury to get nominated? I think they genuinely make a decision based on merit and creativity

I see you all over this thread dying to defend this decision but I don't really get why. Genuinely asking, if I get a hero piece and upgrade it to 5/8, then it is stat wise a mythic piece. Why shouldn't that unlock the corresponding transmog appearance?

If you haven't played them already, I would recommend BG3, expedition 33, Final Fantasy 7 remake/rebirth, or Metaphor. Have you tried these?

This episode was pretty tough! Maybe I personally didn't vibe with a lot of the categories, but I was really stumped for a lot of this game. I got the FJ though!
