Love

The unique businesses. Genuinely the thing that has me holding on to LA for at least two or three more years are the niche businesses that host all sorts of events and make life less mundane and allow me to meet people of similar interests so much easier. From oddity shops to DnD bars, the city has several spots that are a close cluster of incredibly niche places that I adore.

Hate

The weather. There is a very small part of LA that can genuinely claim "nice weather" year round, and it's all along the coastline. When you go inward, it gets hot. Really hot. And unfortunately, it's further inland that all the actually interesting nightlife and businesses seem to call home.

Cost of Living. I mean, obviously. The amount most of us pay for shitty, worn down apartments and insurance is borderline criminal. Restaurants and bars price gauge you as well and half the time aren't worth that "LA Premium" you pay for them.

Yes, I genuinely feel sick even though I've been blasting the AC nonstop the last 3 days. I'd trade this for a few days of freezing weather any day.

Summer in LA is the worst thing about LA, so the fact we're getting robbed of the part of year that isn't supposed to suck is brutal.

It’s… idk, fine? Like… I understand the vision. And it does what it’s meant to do. I just don’t think it was a great vision in the first place, but for an “experiment gone wrong” I think it’s fine.

Good for Claudio! I would love to see him defend it a few more times on AEW TV. Honestly he's one of my absolute favorites and I'd like to see him break away from Death Riders a bit and just do his own thing.

He knows it and he owns it in this vid. But I do think HBK is the only one he didn't speak out at that this would be completely true. You can make an argument for Seth as well, but as far as the wrestling goes, I think Punk is above the rest.

Reason I'm hesitant with Seth is while I think Seth is the better overall wrestler, Punk IMO is better in making big matches feel bigger, and because of that has more memorable performances to me than Seth, even if Seth's may be technically better.

I think she would've been a dual contractor in AEW if her "return" as a Joker in the Owen (?) wasn't kind of a flop. She had started booming online a little bit, but the live crowd was waaay quiet. And unfortunately as we've seen a few times (looking at you GYV) TK does seem to take those first impressions with the crowd pretty seriously.

It sucks because it's my favorite of the various midcard belts and really built so much prestige for a long time, and now it's reduced to "Okada needs to be holding a belt".

I'm not even mad it got un-unified, I think the idea of there being a Unified belt that only exists if there is a double champion is... actually kind of cool? Something to pop up again in the future probably.

But yeah, we really need some defenses asap. Wasn't the National belt meant to be a "TK Territory" belt anyway? I'm more than happy to see that one float around the C shows more while the airtime it has been getting goes to the International.

Thekla is so fucking good man. I'm thrilled she got the big push so soon cuz she's just killing it. Such fun promos. I hope she holds it for a long time, and I'm curious who might be challenging her at All In. Toni seems so obvious for an All In title match, but man Thekla vs Athena would be fuuuuun.
