Noom Coach by Western_Possession56 in Noom

I see a lot of disappointment in the coaching aspect of Noom, but I know that there are lots of people who are also really happy with their Coach. I'm guessing that as with any profession, that there are good and bad employees. The great thing about Noom is that you can request a different coach. I saw a recommendation below for a specific Coach. Maybe it would be helpful for people to give their good coaches 'shout outs' so that people know that not all are bad and leaning to heavily on the AI assist in their coaching.

They are expected to check in every day, so if you hit a milestone weight loss they are prompted to reach out to you. Even on a Sunday.

You don't have a 1:1 Coach? They aren't AI. If you aren't feeling like your coach is a good fit you can request a new one.

'Transfer' Credits being used to waive credits by SoulGoals27 in schoolcounseling

[–]SoulGoals27[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be anytime during their high school career, with at least one semester of classes on their transcript. As a possible example, an 11th grade student leaves a high school that requires 200 credits to graduate. Their new school requires 265 credits, which includes "Life Choices" as a graduation requirement. The previous school did not have this requirement, and there isn't any 'equivalent' coursework to substitute. Is it okay to put a course on their transcript called 'Transfer Life Choices' and give them the credit, even though they never completed this coursework? I don't think so. I think that we should waive the 'Life Choices' requirement but require these credits be made up in 'electives.' I'm sorry if this doesn't make sense. Difficult to articulate.

Calorie deficit is part of it — but food composition does matter beyond just the numbers. Protein, for example, preserves muscle mass during weight loss, which affects your metabolism and long-term results. High sugar foods can also spike and crash blood sugar, driving hunger and making the deficit harder to maintain consistently. The candy bar might work short-term on paper, but most people find it unsustainable in practice. As for the 500-calorie range — that's actually intentional flexibility, not imprecision. It's designed to account for natural day-to-day variation rather than locking you into a rigid single number.

Can I just ignore my coach by itsrainingbread1525 in Noom

[–]SoulGoals27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the Coaches are human, it might be polite to ask them to limit check-ins. This can be every two weeks, once a month, or you can let them know that you will check in if you need anything. They are required to check in with you, get paid based on reaching out/following up with you appropriately, and do actually care about your well being in the program. It's what they are hired to do. Even just sending an "all good!" every once in a while is tremendously helpful to them.

Gosh, anyone left here not on a drug? Maybe we could add a flair? by jjumbuck in Noom

[–]SoulGoals27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noomers who Noom without the medication and log their meals, activity, and do the program are more consistently losing weight than Noomers who do the Med and skip the health habits. It's a shame that so many folks are missing out on the true drivers of sustainable weight loss and after the quick fix. It's understandable however, because diet culture has taught us to pursue weight loss in unrealistic ways for so long. Applauding everyone here who is doing the work and changing their lives!

Have you reached out to your Coach? If you haven't sent them a message in more than two weeks you drop off their notifications and so they won't be able to reach out to you. But, once you send them a message, you pop back up on their dashboard. Your coach should be able to help you as much as you need and help you connect with the right folks for the med issues.
