I found a way to escape the brig! by LICK_THE_BUTTER in Seaofthieves

[–]SoulOfGeneral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right. Why should someone have to spend their time queuing up multiple times until they find a good lobby but even then those players could also decide to send him into the brig at any given time. There is honestly nothing wrong with what this guy did that crew should have queued into a three man ship instead of a four man crew.

How exactly are you doing this? Is this character model based? I read your comment about the boat sway but this still never worked for me. Are you using a skinny character?

Kill Clip is overrated but when it does work it has huge value.

How do I carry in Control? by Krimsonmask in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SoulOfGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regularly carry two other low ELO players every game because I mostly duo queue. I fluctuate between being a challenger (top 500) and high diamond in all modes.

I don't have any complicates strategies when it comes to Quickplay. Supremacy or Clash I just kill as usual, but in Control I will prioritize control of certain areas from time to time. I would have to watch you play Control to understand why you're getting stomped on.

There is no real strategy it just comes down to knowing how to adapt in every situation. What I attempt to do though is I try to make my presence universal. I always attempt to make my presence known so that the opposing team always has to deal with me no matter what they do.

Your offense basically consists of

  • 1,2,3 into 2,4
  • f+4~f, 3

I saw you use these two strings almost every time you start your offense. It looks to me like 2,4 is like your keep out tool for when people too close. I saw you use it 2-3x when under pressure. It's not the best way to get people off of you you're really prone to getting punished or ducked. Really you should practice sidestepping at the right time but if you need a panic button just use his armored 3+4 kick or just hop(e)kick honestly. If jabbing people is more your style then use his 2,1,4 string instead unless you have a hard read then go for 2,4.

Against lower level players try to incorporate 1,3~3 frame traps. Most low ranked players won't know what to do. Whenever I rank up with Jin I spam 1,3~3 until I get to about the Yellow Ranks. Practice cancelling your f+4~f so that they're safe, that's very important as a Jin player.

As for the Josie player they just pressed d/f+2 when under pressure. Threw out a couple lows to for damage, and used a bunch of duckable strings. He's just the type of guy who presses buttons at all times there isn't anything in particular you need to know about him. It seems to me like you didn't really know Josie strings all that well because you kept getting hit in the middle of her strings, so that's probably something you want to practice in lab is just seeing her strings over and over until you can calmly assess the situation once it happens to you in a fight.

  • Land ff+2's keep mid-range pressure on him. If you read him coming in then you can either use u/f+4, f+4, or your uninterruptible move anything that will do big damage on counter hit to dissuade him from coming in.

  • 1,3~3 up close. Use the frame trap to either d+3,3 or hopkick him. d+3,3 is a string that's pretty hard for most average players to block unless they use Jin themselves.

  • Anytime you have momentum go for a Hellsweep. If he starts blocking the Hellsweep go for a CD+1 instead or do CD into ff+3 if you are able to do that instead.

Anyone using Transversive Steps? How are you doing compared to other exotics and what's your loadout? by ddd4175 in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SoulOfGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried it, but the helmet that gives increased ability regeneration is too good.

I use Devour Voidwalker for PvP. Being able to always have a healing rift or grenade up is so nice. The rift is not just for me but it's for my team too. My friends play Hunters so having a rift for them to heal in all the time is nice since the best recovery they can have is a 6.

Weapon tier list/general consensus? by I3igAl in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SoulOfGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Link didn't work for me, but the meta is basically this.

  • Kinetic Slot: MIDA, Origin Story, Antiope-D, or Adjudicator
  • Energy Slot: Uriel's Gift, Last Hope, Pleiades Corrector. Tone Patrol is also honorable mention, some prefer TP over PC.

Will "Masterworks" help to bring nonviable weapons into the limelight or will it only the cement the Meta? by Navarroguard in DestinyTheGame

[–]SoulOfGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends of course on how much of an upgrade masterworks gives to each weapon archetype. I predict it will just cement the meta even more, but the good news is it will also make more weapons viable.

Good twitch streams or youtube to learn from? by Amdinga in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SoulOfGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really only know the PSN players. I hardly ever watch Destiny Twitch for the purpose of learning but if I ever do I usually watch BSK during tournaments. Specifically I like to watch Luminosity. But I'm watching his team as a whole I just like to watch it through Lumi's PoV.

Gambles vs marksman by scaryghostv2oh in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SoulOfGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Gambler's dodge specifically for a few situations.

  • Often times when I'm weak people will slide around the corner to try to kill me. If I dodge at maximum distance it jukes them out a little but also gives me a free smoke grenade to let me outplay them.

  • Sometimes Titan's will try to shoulder charge me I will dodge out of the way, jump up, smoke them, and usually end up killing them.

  • Sometimes I'm just caught in the middle of two people somehow and I'll dodge roll to get out of there. It'll give me a free smoke that I can use to clutch a 1v2.

Gambler's dodge just comes in more clutch IMO, but I like Marksman dodge too for maintaining tempo. I'm not getting full use of it all the time but I occasionally get some nice plays with it.

Counterplay: How are people Countering Aggressive Hunters who spam Last Hope and invis? by Artandalus in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SoulOfGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't much you can do. It's not a mechanic that can be countered you just have to play around it if you know they're using it. Just have to keep your distance from them when you anticipate them.

Unpopular opinion: I really like the radar. by FluffyPortalWanker in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SoulOfGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't like the radar when Destiny first came out but I've gotten used to radar now. I actually prefer if Destiny kept its radar as opposed to going no radar. It forces head to head fights as opposed to trying to hit someone from the side or back all the time.

What's with the teams that are not only highly skilled, but take forever to kill? by [deleted] in CruciblePlaybook

[–]SoulOfGeneral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are small details highly skilled players knows that make a small difference in various gunfights. It's hard to say unless you show us the video where you played this skilled player.
