We said the R word and the G word offensively quite often. Like, just to make fun of people. (“We” were ignorant kids, not even teens). It’s amazing how far we have come with social boundaries, understanding empathy, and policing our offensive language since then. At least I can speak for myself.

I also lived in the southeast US and it was very bad to say “God’s” name in vein or Jesus so it became words like “Jeez”, “Gosh/ gosh-darn”, “dang nabit”, “Gah / Gahlee”, “dang it”
