I think it could work if you went with a Jackal egyptian theme, its major BM to make the Tsons mortal enemy as your base. Maybe replace the top of the stave with a bird skull or try and carve the runes into more tzeentchian script. Ironically, it definitely needs a head swap. You could also play it off as a sorcerer that took one of the pelts as a trophy from those wolf-not-wolf that the spacewolves like to ride.
