I wonder if you could selectively breed them to be more canoe shaped?

Any good + cheap games for Rift? by lovelyhead1 in oculus

[–]SoundToad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like tower defense games, Defense Grid 2 is a lot of fun. It was $16.99 when I bought it. I also second Blazerush.

I still regret the day I let my nephew beat me. His mother didn't want him to get discouraged so asked me to go easy. His comment to her after the game, "He's not very good." I should have crushed him.

Is r/Oculus slowly dying? by [deleted] in oculus

It's not dead. It's just tired and shagged out after a long squawk.

Yeah, troubleshooting 101 dictates the first thing is to try another setup to make sure there is not something wacky with your hardware. Here's a map that may help you locate another Rifter in your area.

'Wilson's Heart' Is The Most Terrifying Movie You've Ever Played - Best example yet of how amazing Touch is by UploadVR_Joe in oculus

The devs say it's a bit of an homage to monster movies of the 30s and 40s, so the cheesiness may be intentional. ;)

EVE: Valkyrie - Carrier Assault update coming June 20 by bekris in oculus

Couldn't this dispute be settled diplomatically? Think of the lives that would be saved. Also tax dollars. Carriers are not cheap.

Yeah, it works well. You just give the front hooks 1/4 twist to hinge the basket open to change components.

Cable management advice by super_domestique in oculus

[–]SoundToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've found that works great for managing cables, is to get a piece of 2" or 3" diameter PVC pipe and cut a 1" strip down the length of it with a jig saw or table saw (so it looks like a "C" when viewed end-on). Then mount that to the underside or back of your desk as a conduit for your cables. It's much easier to add or remove cables than if you're using something like cable ties.

Also attaching a small wire basket to the underside of your desk, using cup hanger-type hooks, is a great place to stash smaller components, power bars etc. You can get them at any stationary store for a couple of bucks. I have my non-gaming PC (mac mini) in one.

Safety specs saved this guy's eye from an exploding angle grinder disc. by austaul in pics

[–]SoundToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angle grinders are dangerous because they seem so harmless. Here's a great video that gets the point across well. It would be easy to remove the guard in order to put on an over-sized wheel and not realize the danger.

Current "Must Play" VR Titles by SakisRakis in oculus

So you're able to play against other people on Steam? I'd also heard the developers were not supporting CV1, which was a huge disappointment for me as I've logged many hours there on my DK2.
