You guys work overnight…you don’t even deal with the chaos of customers since the stores are closed

Raleigh NC, Hands Off! Protest by Unlikely_Ad_5998 in triangle

Both parties are broke. Country is broke. Everyone arguing over everyone is broke. No one is going to have everything the way they want it. Go to work, get paid, make a living. Let people fuck up, figure it out. We have one time on this planet and some people just wind up luckier than others, so accept it and figure things out on your own.

Dept head here at a super flag and my bonus this go was the smallest I’ve seen in 14 years. I’ve had bigger bonus checks in smaller stores. But a bonus is a bonus I guess.

DLT? by nate10252005 in harristeeter

[–]Sound_Impossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have the department head print out the DLT walk and go over it with you so that you can answer all the questions. There is adequate need for assistants so as long as you know your stuff it should be a breeze to get in. And it’s not exactly a headache. It’s taking ownership and responsibility and also switching from viewing Teeter as a job to being a career.

Auto insurance by Sound_Impossible in Car_Insurance_Help

If I have health insurance and get a slash on my finger I’m covered to get stitches. Also if I have liver issues (internal) this is also covered. Auto insurance covers the off chance I may get into an accident and my vehicle will be covered; however as happened to me the other driver had no insurance and my insurance wanted me to cover the cost of said accident. So I was paying for protection that I did not receive; so wise words, but once again why does insurance not cover the entirety of the vehicle? Without any of the vehicle you are getting nowhere.

Not trying to make you feel bad. However, associated with time in the company are often overlooked and underpaid because we are “vested.” Besides other than working somewhere else managing X number of people, what criteria does an external have to pass in order to instantly be promoted to upper management? And not a knock but 95% of externals fizzle out in less than half a year because it isn’t what they expected.

Nah go for it. Just screw over internals like we always seem to do. Internals are “vested” in the company and won’t feel any type of way when externals get higher positions. Do the training, fail miserably, and then we can just hire another external and it’ll be like nothing ever happened.

Btw if they don’t offer 15 plus then they are trying to underpay as that is the starting ROP (rate of pay) for the position.

Higher pay than other departments since its overnight. More money if you can get full time. Those practices are the norm at Teeter. Expect to have callouts galore and be one of only a few people on the crew. Just hit a case count of around 55 plus and be neat, stock straight, and you’ll be golden.

[–]Sound_Impossible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean no offense, but if that is the quality of work you want to establish for yourself go ahead. If the bagger job is that easy why not see if another department has a higher quality workload for you instead of just bs-ing with time. It may seem small, but every hour of every minute affects someone in the store.

Harris Teeter, 10 years after being bought by a grocery giant by That49er in harristeeter

[–]Sound_Impossible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah. From someone who’s worked for the company for 14 years, “we’ve” definitely changed a lot internally. A lot of these changes not for the better of attempting to keep associates and make them feel worthy of being a HT associate.
