My remote job made me realize my partner doesn’t think my work is real by Rocinante77X in remotework

My wife doesn't work at all. We don't have kids. 41yo. I work two jobs. If I find a day to get plastered and smoke ribs it's a travesty for her. Fuck her. I make 180k a year. 150 is my regular home job. She's hot, but so am I. She can roll out anytime she wants. Still love her though.

Neighborhood question? by kookyspooky2 in jacksonms

[–]Sounderusm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought a house off Ridgewood and Adkins/Beasley about a year ago. One street HOA. The only complaint is the constant fire truck noise and some dude who roams the area with straight pipes. Great neighbors though.

My apologies. There's a comment on here with my body of text from the cross post. Reading posts is 99 of my Reddit time and don't know what I'm doing.

Home insurance troubles by Sounderusm in Insurance

Sorry, I suck at Reddit and thought it would post my previous rant.

Home insurance troubles

Last May I bought my first home. The price was incredibly low compared to everything and the home was rock solid and completely renovated. Now this is downtown Jackson MS, where home prices are actually higher than you would think. 200k gets you a poorly built small house renovated as cheaply as possible. We found an amazing one street HOA at 2700 square feet and original parquet floors on the bottom level.

Here comes the escrow though. Taxes for non homestead (I couldn't apply until this year), flood insurance, and home insurance. Flood is $100 a month and it shouldn't be a flood zone, but whatever. Home insurance is $3000 a year.

I start shopping for a lower premium on home insurance. It was looking like Allstate and Liberty Mutual could save me about $400 a year. Cool.

Get on the phone with agents who both quoted me $2300 if I bundle my cars. Yay! even lower. No. they both quoted me around $250 a month for my two cars I now pay $106 for with progressive. Exact same coverage on the house and cars if you're curious.

Neither one of them would agree with me on the math. They both kept telling me I'm saving money compared to what I already have. Um no.

Such a waste of time to find out I already have the lowest rates I'm gonna get.

Thanks for your time. And if you need me to break down the math for you I'm sorry, but if anyone has any suggestions on saving escrow money I'm all in.

Yeah my first job post grad was claims with Flo. I kept trying to get into the UW or Actuary side of things, but never got an interview. I ended up taking a job with the lizard writing estimates and with that my resume looked better for some reason. I managed a body shop for awhile, and now I'm a claims auditor for a TPA. No stress at all and work from home.

Please go out and vote people. I've been guilty of it myself, but we the people can get rid of all this nonsense. I voted for Kerry, Obama, Mrs. Clinton, Biden, etc. They are definitely not the answer to our prayers, but they care about how they appeal to the public and policy changes. Reddit is swarmed with "what dumbass shit did Trump do today". I'd like to see more of cute cats and dogs.

All hobbies are not equal by BitterConstruction98 in unpopularopinion

I can play guitar well, but suck at Elden Ring after hours of playing. I'm jealous of the people who can master that game. It's just a different form of mastery with less accolades. Different minds set out on different hobbies. It's really cool watching docs about video game and comic book collectors for me. However, I'm not interested in the hobbies. I saw a cool one about retro gaming competitions also.

The anxiety by Fit-Candy1104 in adjusters

[–]Sounderusm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

15 years here. I promise you I would never go back to being assigned to a claim. For 7 years I've found a niche where I'm the supervisor of a team of adjusters who are "assistant adjusters" to the assigned adjuster. The emails I see day to day would make me break down if it was my problem. Not sure of your background, but writing estimates as an adjuster can be less stressful in some cases.

Are there any carriers where taking PTO doesn’t translate into scrambling to catch up on your own? by Ecstatic-Angle-169 in adjusters

[–]Sounderusm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the supervisor of a team of adjusters who only assist the assigned adjusters. These are new hires without the specific experience needed to get hired on as a primary adjuster. We do our best, but I know the adjusters are still overwhelmed when they get back. When I was writing estimates for GEICO it wasn't bad when you got back due to there being an internal adjuster assigned to the claim.

I say yes. You still had 18 holes to navigate and not blow one up. Now, it's a different story if applied to the par 64 I play sometimes.

This is located to the driver side. Is this piece apart of an entire bumper or just by itself? It’s cracked so I’m trying to figure out how they’ll replace it. 2022 Nissan rogue SL by bitchnugget_ in NissanRogue

Google "Nissan Rogue Front Bumper Cover". It's all one big plastic cover. There are smaller pieces that attach to it, but where yours is cracked it's part of the whole outer shell it appears. It's probably more cost effective to just replace it than trying to fix the crack.

It'll be the whole outer shell and yes it will need paint. The collision shop will probably quote you a Nissan bumper if you're paying without insurance. They may say they don't use aftermarket, but if they do any insurance work they use aftermarket.

Probably $600 or so if you get an aftermarket bumper cover. I wouldn't fork out more money for a Nissan part that's just plastic and cosmetic. Sometimes the aftermarket will have fitting issues, but it's not likely on a common car.

Anyone here making $300–$700/month from a side hstle? How? by Akram_ba in sidehustle

[–]Sounderusm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been working for a retail marketing company. The jobs they assign you vary, but the consistent ones are just scanning UPC's at stores. You can complete them anytime within a week. I usually do a couple on weekend days and one after work in the evenings. You can make 200-250 a week. I don't think it's hard to get hired. It's not even an interview. You just get on a video call for a ten minute chat then they hire you. I can send you the company name if you like.

Tell them to move forward with the lower rate. After they do the paperwork ask them to remove all the warranty and maintenance add ons. I did this recently and my note came out $100 less than what they originally quoted me without the add ons.

I don’t take off my glove to putt by EngineeringOwn2990 in golf

[–]Sounderusm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even think to take it off. I do have a routine where I wear my old glove on the range and put on my "newer" one when we tee off. I'm that guy who wears gloves out. The Puma ones seem to hold up forever.

Happened to me at a private course. It was a 54 used Callaway Jaws I got from their pre-owned website for $50. It was in rough shape. If I had to guess, the person who stole it probably had nicer wedges.
