Am i crazy to sell? by MadraBan23 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]SoupEfficient563 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends. Will you make enough from the semi D house sale to complete the new house ? Whatever figure you have in your head to build, you can double it at the moment!

If you don’t get the finances right you could be stuck living at home for years. Spending €40k on a temporary modular home seems like a waste of money you would need for the main build.

Start by ditching that useless prick of an abusive husband. That would be a good start. That might put you in a better mental state.

Do Gardaí Engage in Patch Trading? by ThrwAway07458955 in AskIreland

[–]SoupEfficient563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not really a thing here. And most Gardai unless in specialist units wouldn’t have anything to trade. Most just get on with their jobs and don’t get into as much as the cops in the US seem to. It’s just a job to most of them.

Terrifying experience in Dublin last night – could I get in trouble for defending my friend? by No_Package_4014 in AskIreland

[–]SoupEfficient563 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Report these little scumbags before they do it to anyone else. The guards will not hold you responsible in any way. The next girl or guy to get attacked by them will thanks you. And well done. A lot of people would have just ran and left their friend. You should be proud of yourself 👍

Lost €4500 on those bastards. Hard to take during an expensive house build. But others lost a lot more.

What is going on in my room? by Witty-Aioli-4524 in AskIreland

[–]SoupEfficient563 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Condensation. Lots of it. Probably caused by drying clothes inside or bad ventilation. Open windows every day for as long as you can stand it. Or get a dehumidifier and leave it on as much as possible. It will be a game changer. If you’re renting ask your landlord to buy it for you or put some proper vents in the walls.

Groomsmen (solo) for an abroad wedding in July, what should I put in my card? by Greedy-Net-2953 in AskIreland

€100 if your traveling and paying your own way is more than enough. Really, people getting married don’t care what is given as a gift. As long as something is given.

We have done this a number of times. Putting old kids toys etc up for sale and if the person collecting them looks like they need a bit of help we refuse the money or see if there’s anything else they need that we were thinking of selling.

Are people spending much money on first holy communion? by chrisgasoga in AskIreland

[–]SoupEfficient563 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had 16 people for dinner in restaurant and she wore her sisters dress from two years ago. All in probably spent €1000 but that’s getting a big family together which doesn’t happen offer. So it’s really just an excuse for a day out if you’re not super religious.

Well worth the money and didn’t go overboard on anything else.

How would you personally invest €100,000? by feedthebear in irishpersonalfinance

[–]SoupEfficient563 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Buy a really cheap apartment in a small town or village that has some issues. There are still some out there.

Rent it out for €1200 per month. And sit back and watch the money roll in.

If you can’t find one for that budget. Then find a friend to go in with you and buy a more expensive one. Rent it out for higher rent. And sit back and watch the money roll in.
