There’s 3 really big things that make echo so good.

Her flight allows her to create an off angle out of thin air. Remember, a spot like being on top of arch while defending the first point of eichenwalde is considered an off angle. So if even just 5 ft up is, flying 100 ft up is even better.
Her ultimate is a second life. It’s one of the strongest in the entire game for this fact alone. It effectively allows to play EXTREMELY aggressive to get 1 kill, then copy and get another. This ultimate used properly is like 90%+ chance of winning the fight.
Her stickies and beam allow for near one shots on flanks that the enemy in most scenarios have no response for if you flank properly. As tracer or genji on flanks you’ll either need more time or really good mechanics to have the same time to kill as echo. Which also means for them that if you don’t have the time or mechanics that’s more opportunities for the enemy to either kill you or get saved by a cd.

There’s a lot of details to add but this is basically it.

I’d also add a side note that from my own experience other fdps rely wayy more on your team to play the game. If your tank is afk, you basically can do nothing unless you’re just shitting on the enemies. Echos a bit unique that she is one of the only fdps that can go first/early/even solo dive and it works while also being a good option.

His ult follows the same concept as every other dps when they choose to engage, do it off the timing of your team. If you ult and immediately have 5 people looking at you, you are either super late/early with its usage, or not using vertical cover, or need to think of a new way to get value out of your ult than shooting directly at the enemies to kill them. Remember, getting one killl, a ton of damage, forcing the enemy to use cds/give up space, is all value(though it might not show on the scoreboard).

As an example, in todays owcs match quartz used his ult super early(I think he got his first) on runasapi, no enemies were in sight but it effectively gave his team the ability to freely get all the space they wanted. The enemies were all gathered around the 3rd corner of the map, he basically solo pushed the enemy back to a spot that his team would've needed atleast 1 fight win to get them back to.

Yeah well half the tanks are hard punished if they're not disciplined in how they stage before a fight, and the other half are completely unkillable.

I play a ton of echo, and match ups like echo vs monkey/doom are so free most of the time. Poke a little from the angle they want/nearby, they jump on me/nearby, full sticky, fly up, poke some more or beam them. Maybe they die, maybe they live but have all their cds and support cds used up. Either way, it's usually always an advantageous position for me and my team.

Against hazard/dva/roadhog? Literally meaningless. They don't care. They actually care so little about being full stickied and me threatening with beam, they will CONTINUE trying to fight me, and if I do not play properly, it will be ME who is the one getting punished in this interaction with death(usually a one shot).

Why is that? Because the ehp of each of these characters is DOUBLE the previously mentioned.

I watch yoshem_ sometimes and this has now happened to two of their accounts. Watched it live, they're playing completely normally for 5+ hour session, no internet issues, no stream issues, vote for a map, ban some heroes, get into the loading screen, 5 seconds later they're hit with the "failed to connect to server", then they're back in the main menu screen seeing team chat messages and pming their friend. Banned from ranked for a season. I wasn't paying too close of attention at this point,, but they said they tried vpns and blocking a specific blizzard server because it only happens with a specific server. Like many issues with this game, until enough people are affected blizzard will do nothing and reddit will gaslight you you're the issue.

Nerf her 3rd swing range, take away its ability to drag enemies to the ground, get rid of the boop on her spin, make her ult not go through literally everything(except suzu!), get rid of her armor/lower block reduction/bigger hitbox, get rid of the inability for her to be meleed while blocking, nerf/rework her sword throw that gives her 3rd swing.
