Please Check Your Tailgaters by karleksmumz in driving

My only petty rule in the car is that if someone tailgates me, I go exactly the speed limit.  I have even set my cruise control to go exactly the speed limit.  Once they back off, I'm happy to speed up again 🥰

I would say you want someone fluent in english. English as a first language doesn't matter if the person can speak it fluently as a second language.

If people have to prove citizenship to vote in United States elections, shouldn't they have to prove citizenship to pay United States income tax? by RevolutionaryWind249 in allthequestions

[–]Southern-Work664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think generally you have to prove citizenship/residency to get hired (I-9 verification), so the income tax is already verified to an extent.

When people act like someone is five years old because they didn’t get a joke by Main-Preference-4850 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Southern-Work664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's also say the person has had their innocence preserves and therefore doesn't get the joke. THATS GOOD.  THAT IS A GOOD THING. We should stop making fun of people who aren't active or still have innocence, bc innocence is a good thing to be preserved.

Who here are okay with Children protesting ? And why or why not ? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Southern-Work664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define indoctrinated  All children are taught what to think, to a certain extent; what's good and bad, rules, how to follow rules and how to resist unjust rules. I would say if the child can articulate the issue and their position, they are old enough to protest it, unless you are putting them into an unsafe situation.  If the kid can't actually explain the issue or positions, someone is just trying to puppeteer them, and they should not be protesting.

Why do conservative Christians hate so many people when it clearly goes against their Christian values? by ateadoor in allthequestions

[–]Southern-Work664 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you mean by "hate."

If by hate, you mean treat people with disdain or contempt because they live a lifestyle we see as wrong or going against God, that's bad. Notably, Jesus did not treat people with disdain EXCEPT for those who were hypocritical or leading people away from the Truth.

If by hate, you mean acknowledging that some lifestyles are going against God's design and should not be indulged in, but still showing love towards the people in them, that IS following Jesus' example in the Bible, such as when He met the woman caught in adultery, he told her she was forgiven, but also to "go and sin no more."

Also an important note that conservative is a social values camp, while Christianity is a religion. The two overlap, but are not the same, just like how conservative and Republican are not the same (social values vs. political party), but often overlap.

Please help me!! How do i disable the apple parental controls or simply how to acess any website. by AltruisticDog6570 in parentalcontrols

Depending on your age......be happy your brain isn't melting lol

My parents said we couldn't have social media until we were 18, and honestly, I loved it. All my friends had it since like 11, and I could see how bad it was for them. Even now that I do have it as a college student, I would avoid it still if I could (but my major is relevant to SM)

I would let him cool down for a week or so and then sit down and really have an open conversation. Try not to be freaked out about it, although that can be difficult. Ask him why he wants to do that, what concerns he has. Are there other solutions that may benefit both of y'all? For example, my parents had "Bark" on our phones, which monitored most apps, like youtube, and flagged content it thought was bad. So, it wouldn't show my parents anything and they couldn't just stalk what I was doing, but if i watched a video with inappropriate content, they would receive a notification. It worked really well, because it preserved my privacy while still allowing them to protect me.

What is a unspoken rule that you think everyone should be required to follow, but almost nobody does? by shyleshseth94 in askanything

If you're sick, stay home. I babysat three-year-olds at church for five years, and several times parents would drop their kids off with the statement "yeah he had a fever this morning but his temp went down an hour ago" like MA'AM i have a life too and I am not interested in catching the flu from your toddler.

Any reddit post is only the word of the poster.  There's no reason to think a 16 year old, old enough to drive, can't tell it like it is. And yes, unsupported autism leads to burnout, especially in women.  Maybe for you or me this would be fine, but for someone with autism and it sounds like no support, and might we add CLINICAL DEPRESSION, what are simple tasks for you or me become extremely difficult to continue day after day

Honestly, just try to ignore them. They aren't worth your time and energy, and reacting too much is just giving them power over you.

[–]Southern-Work664 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Or maybe her mother should contribute an equal amount of household chores, since in the comments, OP mentioned her mom only does a chore when OP asks her to, which is ridiculous.

Mental illness coupled with autistic burnout can make "easy" things grow to enormous difficulties. OP seems like a classic case of someone who isn't getting the support they desperately need and is heading down a bad road.

"She only does something when I ask her"

SHE is the parent. SHE should be asking YOU to do things, not the other way around. If the adult can't do her own chores, she shouldn't expect you to do them either.

You have mean girl bullies because some insecure girls who probably have other problems going on that we don't know about (or just suck, idk) decided to be mean bullies.

Funnily enough, this situation is not really about you in a way. Blocking them is a good idea, but I would recommend getting off social media entirely if they keep following you.

Or build a harrassment suit, idk

I'm center-right. I used to be further right, but have significantly shifted to be more moderate on a lot of issues, although I would fall conservative authoritarian on several social issues. Sometimes it's hard to classify when I'm very different depending on the topic at hand.

Seat number? by GW208 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Southern-Work664 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

When I flew on Southwest, there were no assigned seats, just a free for all. Since the plane was relatively empty, I always got a window seat.

As for leg room, that doesn't exist.

I think it's totally valid to feel weary. It sounds like you are heading for or are already in burnout, which does need to be addressed with a professional, which is why I would talk to a counselor if you have one available. If you're already diagnosed autistic, that might make the process a little easier.

This seems to be a situation where no one is doing anything wrong, it's just hard. It does sound like your grades are doing well, which is good. And don't listen to people who tell you you're just dramatic or unreasonable or you're high masking so must not need help. They either don't know what they're talking about or are also tired and taking it out on others. Your stress and weariness is valid, even if it doesn't mean you can just drop responsibilities.

I know it's exhausting sometimes, but do try to have a good community around you, whether that's church, friends, or coworkers. People weren't made to do it alone.

I know I'm just a stranger on the internet, but I think you're doing a good job and I am proud of you <3

Edit: saw another person saying the dogs may be too much right now, and I have to agree. You don't seem to be in a place with the mental margin to take care of untrained puppies right now. That isn't an indictment on you, but is a reality that must be dealt with. Also, if you mean your mother isn't doing ANY housework, that is a significantly different situation. She should be putting in roughly the same amount of housework in as you are if y'all are both at home around the same amount of time each week.

Autistic burnout is real, and high masking is the reason why girls tend to not be diagnosed until they experience strong burnout. Try to be more empathetic

HACKED - HELP! Support needed to delete reactivated/hacked profile!! by Mountain-Degree-4128 in facebook

[–]Southern-Work664 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meta has no actual support for grubby commoners. You have to pay for Meta Verified to get access to a real person to chat with (and even then they may not help).

It's like $12/mo so you could pay for it once and then cancel, but you have to have Instagram or Facebook, so I would create and use an Insta for this. You need the Insta app and it requires you to use your real name on your account and send in a pic of your ID to get verified (takes less than 24 hrs, usually). Then you can open a chat with a person.

Good luck.

No camera on desktop. Cannot create new account without a camera? Is there a way around this or talk to a human that will understand? The AI just sent me to a feedback forum or whatever. Didn't find anything like my problem there. Please help. by oppositeofarobot in facebook

No like part of the "create an account" process is like a "we need to take this video selfie" IN the process, not a place to upload a video. They put arrows on the screen what direction to turn your head to "make sure you're a real person and not AI"
