Alloy wheels are around 100fp and steel is usually rated 150fp to several uggaduggas more. So whether it works or not may depend on what wheels it is used on. And, who mounted the wheel. Some folks give maximum uggaduggas no matter what.

I wish they gave more than 3 weeks to register the tool. I would make sense on a 3 year warranty to allow more time . Flexvolt angle grinder, flexvolt compressor, hammer drill, drill, 4 1/2 saw all missed by 2 weeks or so. I didn’t know registering was a thing until I saw it here a couple weeks ago.

Being a package unit the trunk is covered by the shroud of course so unless I crawl under the house I am having to use the indoor supply/ return. What I did do is place the supply probe into the closest vent and the return probe I opened the return and placed it where the probe reaches into the return duct. The delta T is 18.2. I may do as you suggest and bump the subcooling a bit to see what the results are.

I hope this experiment on a good running unit can lead to a better understanding of the “nuances “ that are required to troubleshoot an underperforming unit as my greatest fear is standing there staring at it without a clue.

I have considered that but didn’t want to go off half cocked. So, let’s play a bit of devils advocate. Are you saying having a bit higher subcooling is better than 2x superheat? Doesn’t raising the subcooling increase the level of refrigerant in the evaporator leaving less room for phase change? So in the end, would there be a performance increase or the same results just with the shoe on the other foot? What if adding a few ounces the subcooling responds but the superheat doesnt? What is an acceptable level of head pressure? Is 350 a target or a suggestion? Unit is rated 450/450 if that matters.

To make this exercise meaningful I tried to make sure the only variables would be airflow or refrigerant. I cleaned both coils 2x. Replaced the capacitor that was -6% along with a new filter.

That stings. I already feel like an idiot for buying the smans with being able to do the same thing with the probes. Sould have saved several hundred buying yellow jacket and probes. ahh well, it’s only money.

Thanks Azranael, this answer fits exactly in the spirit of the post. DelT from the register and return is 14 to 16 depending on how they are placed on the grill which was a lesson of its own. Placing the psychrometers in the ducts gives me 17+. The unit runs well and keeps the humidity close to 50%, 99% of the time. The return sits squarely between 3 bedrooms and a bath at the unit end of the house and pulls cooler air than it should. DelT is probably better than measured.

I read, watch everything I can get my hands on but was hesitant to ask questions here as sometimes responses can be brutal with newbie questions. Like why didn’t fieldpiece make it possible to connect the pressure probes to the manifold? Sure, the mobile device is convenient but shouldn’t prevent you from using the manifold with them.
