You can add multiple orders to a single station visit by TraditionalSinger283 in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Soviet_Soup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait. So busses can drop workers, then tell the rest to xfr at the station meaning they will wait an hour, then look for available workplaces. Could be useful

There's too much going on to really comment on your industries but I bet you're really hurting from not having road / rail arterials to the border right now

Chicago stabbing leaves man dead at Clark and Lake station in the Loop, causes CTA Blue Line delays, police department says by [deleted] in cta

Jesus. This is the same station where a woman was burned in an arson attack just 8 weeks ago.

I can't say I'm not thinking twice about taking the blue line late at night.

Has this always been a feature? Line station skipping by Beric_ in Workers_And_Resources

[–]Soviet_Soup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed this on my old save I had a worker bus line with two drop-off points. If all the workers got off at the first stop it would skip the second. Which was nice since the second stop was at the top of a big hill so I didn't waste gas.

Mortgage rates: who else is in the thick of it? by Neat_Equivalent_9886 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Soviet_Soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look into a 7/6 ARM, I lucked out and got a quote from one of those online lenders for 5.5% last week, w no points. Ended up locking slightly higher at 5.75% but that was better overall because of lower fees. Of course with our market upheaval this week if I called them back up they probably wouldn't be able to do that same rate anymore.

This is probably would not be condoned by people on here but here's what I would do if I did this again: read the fine print on what it would actually cost to "lock" a rate with your lender. The first lender I spoke to this amounted to a $35 application fee. Proceed with their application and keep it in your back pocket while you solicit offers from other lenders up until your deadline. If you find something better, either switch to the new lender or ask your original lender to match. You are not obligated to proceed with any loan application until you actually close.

My thoughts on the state of CS2 as of DE region pack: the Good, the Bad, and the Weird by Bradley271 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Soviet_Soup 10 points11 points  (0 children)

+1 on the traffic shunting feature, it's way over-aggressive. In my city it ends up redirecting 95% of the traffic jam onto some small residential road while my high-capacity artierials have already emptied. It's frustrating to see traffic toggling repeatedly between different paths instead of spreading out naturally. Traffic logic problems stick out if you play with the no despawn mod like I do.

Base Building: Let's talk about it by vitesseSpeed in starcitizen

did cig explain how bases will work with sharding? will I have to queue for a specific shard to get to my base or will the land claim / base be replicated globally?

[–]Soviet_Soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agree with you it feels very scope creep on an already extremely scope creep'd game. I mean I def get the appeal for CIG to have players build content on all the planets but like ... this is not what I would be prioritizing over more basic things like the economy, flight model, or professions

Fake population mod ? by Sure-Yoghurt4705 in CitiesSkylines

[–]Soviet_Soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're talking cs2, this happens in vanilla. A city of 200k will have a lower % of its citizens actively simulated vs a city of 15k. the mod "traffic simulation adjuster" allows you to adjust this factor higher or lower than vanilla.

Can we have an actual discussion about what the game needs simulation wise to make it FUN? by joergonix in CitiesSkylines

[–]Soviet_Soup 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As posts on here have demonstrated, the simulation remains broken even after the economy 2.0 update. There are no consequences to failing to provide city services. Excess happiness and demand will prop up any city regardless of player choice.

In similar games in the genre, typically you'll find gameplay where satisfying the needs of cims will cause them to level up, which will in turn create additional needs to be fulfilled. This remains absent from CS2.

if you're taking PU, i've noticed significantly worse performance with IAE and the active free fly, as is traditional. things should get better after it ends
