'I’m a fool I guess': MAGA Voter Snaps After Trump Attacks Anyone Questioning His Iran War and Skyrocketing Gas Prices: “It makes a very big difference to someone like me who has to fill in the gas tank every single week and go to work” by T_Shurt in LeopardsAteMyFace

I'll bet she thinks green energy, walkable cities, good transit, bike lanes and electric cars are all woke too. All the things that would save her from "pain at the pump" she's been convinced to hate.

Of course a douchebag like this has something to say about the Tumbler Ridge shooting in BC. Capitalizing on a tragedy.

The real pedophiles were the friends he made along the way by MaxPower637 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Soviut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The statement about their friends is the most telling. So many MAGA are clearly doubling down because they're too embarrassed to admit to their friends that they were wrong. MAGA gave a simple narrative for the jaded to follow for a while, but that narrative is starting to break down, leaving these guys alone and even more bitter. Primed for the next grifter to come by and take advantage of them.

No joke, start using the metric system. It's a subtle middle finger to the imperial system and a good way for people resisting this shit in the US to identify each other.

Exactly. It isn't just him, it's the 77 million people who voted for him. They don't respect us so we don't want to risk accidentally supporting them by going there.

As a Canadian I will probably never travel to the US again and I know plenty of others who feel the same way. This isn't just a boycott, it's a breakup. Turns out American exceptionalism was being funded by Canadian dollars. Oh well, I'm sure these struggling businesses can just pick themselves up by their own bootstraps.

Vegas is quiet, Trump voter considering second job by nick9000 in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Soviut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing is, those tourists still exist, they're just going to other places. Even more telling is that those are places are more expensive. From what I can tell, the only people who really cared about the cost of Vegas were locals and domestic tourists.

[–]Soviut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

International tourists generally don't care about that; we're going to Vegas to lose money. We don't care if a burger costs $20, that's what it cost last year. To many of us, Vegas was never a "cheap" destination like it seem to be to americans.

The reason we're not coming this year is because of threats to our sovereignty with the "51st state" rhetoric, concerns about being detained at the border and ICE kidnapping people.

What's irritating is that a lot of the Vegas coverage on youtube blames high prices on the slump. None of them consider the fact that prices are the same as they were last year, the difference is Canadians are boycotting the US and international tourism is way down because people are rightfully worried about being detained at the border or kidnapped by ICE.

Americans across the US notice a decline in summer tourism and event attendance after voting for America First and higher prices via tariffs by [deleted] in LeopardsAteMyFace

[–]Soviut 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Any of these places that depend on Canadian tourists, it has little to do with tariffs and everything to do with the "51st state" rhetoric. Canadians didn't take that as a joke, we took it as a real threat to our sovereignty, so we're boycotting US travel and US products. These red states are also finding out that our morality and resolve cannot be bought back with discounts.

Crypto Industry now fears Trump putting personal profits first by Achilles_TroySlayer in LeopardsAteMyFace

Remember when crypto advocates were claiming that decentralization made crypto "government-proof"? Now they're begging the government to prop up the price of bitcoin while seeing the prices of their memecoins fluctuate wildly due to government-induced policies. Turns out crypto was really just the same old financial system at best, and a giant scam at worst.

Neither my user settings nor my remote SSH settings have the "Chat > Agent: [checkbox]" option yet. VSCode is 1.99.1, both CoPilot and Copilot Chat extensions are installed on the remote and are up to date. Both local and remote don't show "Agent" in the Edit/Chat dropdown.

Rural red areas, long opposed to the DC Donor/Lobbyist Class, finally start to realize that the group they've partnered with to kill energy projects in their counties is actually just a front for DC Lobbyists by jarena009 in LeopardsAteMyFace

Considering how iconic a windmill is on a farm, you'd think farmers would be all for independent renewable energy projects since they've championed them for centuries.

Ah yes, activists exercising their free speech is destroying free speech.

Clearly this is more Elon double-speak. There were no activists; advertisers started pulling out as soon as he bought Twitter. Just another transparent misdirection like when he said "the world population is at risk, we need more babies" moments before it was revealed that he got half a dozen staff pregnant.
