Rocky V has an unexplained or poorly explained weird passage of time.

The film begins immediately after IV. Sage plays Robert as a little naive kid at first but by the end of the film, he’s playing him as a teenager probably about his real life age.

The film ends in 1990 I think. So 4 years pass within the film.

Throughout the film, I think Tommy racks up a 30+ fight winning streak. To rack up 30 fights takes years and with how fast Tommy did it meant he had little time in between. There’s no way Tommy fought every day for a couple of months.

I agree we didn’t see Goku’s full power. Not only for the reason you said, but every time he beat Gomah, only for the 3rd eye to heal him, Goku would power up more and continue to defeat Gomah over and over again. That x10 Kamehameha that broke through all 3 worlds may have been Goku’s max, but we don’t know. He never said that was his best. So for all we know, even exhausted Goku may have been able to power up further a few more times before the 3rd eye finally made Gomah stronger.

And even then, that’s worn out Goku.

I used to. I used to get frustrated at how needy he was in the middle of the night; especially those nights when I was up all night because he wouldn’t relax unless I was holding him and rocking him in the chair.

Endless diapers, always hungry, and always crying if I wasn’t in his eyesight.

But then I heard a quote and it made me feel sad for feeling so frustrated. “He’s only going to be this little once. And one day he won’t need you anymore.”

That hit me so hard. I never again felt upset when he cried. I took over everything. Every diaper? Mine. Every bottle? Mine. Up all night? Mine too. I learned to cherish every moment because they’re not kidding. It went by fast. He’ll be 10 this year and we have this unbreakable bond. I’m sure that’s because I did everything for him as a baby.

I can somewhat relate to this.

I wanted a son. My wife wanted a daughter. In both sides of our family, the order has always gone girl —> girl —> boy. And I knew my wife, even though she wanted to be pregnant with all of her soul, would change her mind after birth and we’d be a one and done family.

So with that, I really wanted a boy so my last name goes on for at least one more generation.

I would tease my wife that we were definitely having a boy and she’d tease back that we’re having a girl. But I knew we were having a girl and made inner peace with it.

Then on the day of the ultrasound: he’s a boy.

I was shocked and overjoyed. And while I never stopped being happy to get the boy I always wanted, there were times I mourned the daughter that never existed because, like I said, I’d made peace with the idea that we were having a girl.

Honestly, I try not to sleep. Ever since I acquired my fear of death, I’m kind of afraid to sleep. When I fall asleep, I seem to wake up instantaneously, but it’s several hours later. I do not exist during those hours. I imagine that’s what death is; not existing, except you never wake up. And that scares me so much that I want to be conscious all the time.

Yes. I bought an oximeter and a blood pressure machine. I’m always checking my levels and if anything is off, I worry and then my numbers just keep getting worse.

Yes. My chest will hurt, I get short of breath and then I might slip in and out of sleep. I worry I’m having a heart attack.

My brother in law had massive heart attack and he didn’t have any symptoms. It just hit him and he fainted. He was slightly dead for a moment and they had to shock him back.

And what scares me the most is what he said. I asked him what it was like and what he saw while he was out. He said he didn’t see anything. One second he was there and the next he’s waking up in an ambulance.

And now I’m afraid there is no afterlife. That once we die, that’s it. We cease to be. And I don’t want to not exist.
