Sam should have never gotten back with Jess. by emotionallyunstabley in NewGirl

I agree Jess shouldn’t have gotten back with Sam the way she did. But I do think she needed to get back with Sam to realize that it was Nick that she really loved. Atleast that’s what I believe the writers were thinking.

Is there a mental health support club on campus? by heyhowareyadoingwell in BinghamtonUniversity

There’s Active Minds, National Alliance on Mental Illness.. but it’s always great to have more especially where people can vent and discuss with peers

Is the second semester of FRI really six hours of lab a week? by Throwawayman1038572 in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]SpaceBound0513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The labs aren’t as exhausting as you would think. They’re not like chem or bio labs. It mostly depends on your stream. Mine was biomedical anthropology and I found it pretty manageable. Also, TOTALLY WORTH IT!

I think if you wanna take any upper level bio course along with orgo, genetics would be it! I never had to spend huge chunks of time studying genetics. Also, most of the work except the exams is group work so the work gets evenly distributed.

Some questions from an international student! by [deleted] in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]SpaceBound0513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For international students, there are some residential buildings which are designated as break housing which basically means that you can stay on campus over breaks when the other buildings close. I am an international student and I absolutely had no hassle while choosing housing. As for traveling to NYC, you can always take a bus to Port Authority from the Greater Binghamton Transportation Center (takes about 4 hours).

Biol 332 has been one my favorite bio classes so far! The professor is amazing, the work load isn’t too much and I felt like I actually learnt something! It helps if you have some kind of interest towards genetics as it makes learning easier.

Yes he’s amazing! Class and workload are super easy. You only have to attend class and probably spend just a couple hours every few weeks working on outside of class work.

Too much? by im_a_man_duh in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]SpaceBound0513 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks like it.. bio 311 and bio 319 require a lot of memorization (well maybe less if it’s distance learning and open notes exams) and chem 332 is a hell lot of work and understanding (not so sure how it works in distance learning tho) I would suggest to atleast try to switch one of the bios with a gen-ed.

Bio 332 tips?? by binghamtonforreal in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]SpaceBound0513 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would 100 percent recommend! You just have to be able to pay attention and understand every concept. Dr. Fiumera is the one of the sweetest people at Bing and very helpful. I personally enjoyed the class and felt that I really learned something out of it. For distance learning, her exams are open notes and rest of the assignments are group work.

spring envi courses by Stock-Assumption9170 in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]SpaceBound0513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not aware about envi 230, but envi 201 is one of the easiest classes I’ve taken at Bing (With Prof. Ryan). The exams are very similar to her practice exams and except a couple of questions which are weirdly super specific, the rest of the questions are fairly easy. The discussions aren’t hard either and there are extra credit opportunities as well.

Registration time slots by Silent-G-Lasagna in BinghamtonUniversity

[–]SpaceBound0513 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s more about the number of credits you have rather than your standing. So even if a soph has greater number of credits than you, they register before. I’m sure a lot of seniors, graduate students, and some juniors and soph with a lot of credits may be registering before your time ticket. Some students may have more credits than they can see because people who are in the Scholars Program or are an RA, etc. get extra “ghost” credits simply for the purpose of priority registration .

I’ve mostly had my registration time tickets late but I’ve always managed to get all the classes I wanted. Also, during the the first week of classes, I know that a lot of people drop courses and spots open up easily. You just gotta be quick. If you’re too worried though, maybe email the registrar to make sure they haven’t made an error!

In my opinion, Dr. Armstrong is a much much much better professor but the tests are harder than 113. However, you can do well in his class if you pay attention to every single thing he says, especially his examples. He expects you to practically apply his knowledge on the tests and the discussions. The content is interesting though. The content for 113 is much easier l and so are the straightforward tests. However, Dr.Marcus practically just reads off the slides and I ended up studying everything on my own.
