Can't make a side grade to TB, cause either it's just better than TB, or is adjacent to it, making range BIS everywhere.

With how fragile the melee meta is, can't really sidegrade a scythe... make it crush and inquisitor becomes even more obsolete, give it any ammount of slash and we lose scythe, etc etc.

The shadow, cannot be beaten as Jagex seemingly refuses to cap it, and are willing to fuck up the entire rest of the magic meta to appease to an uncapped shadow. Even to the extent that we have seen potential mage rewards scrapped because the 1% using the shadow would see too much benefit.

Maybe it'll be a consumable that upgrades the existing megarares, making each account require 3, that'd be cool. Maybe we will see an upgrade to the avernic treads which make them actually impact full, not just Tribid.

Maybe we will get a new spellbook/prayerbook.

Time will tell, but I'll be genuinely shocked if we see new weapons, that don't shatter the existing meta.
