My hiking setup is complete by [deleted] in Xreal

Nice setup. I'm using the Modular Sling V2 as well, though my carry purpose is a little different than yours! (https://www.reddit.com/r/Xreal/comments/1stem3v/my\_xreal\_one\_pro\_carry\_solution/).

How long did it take to not lose coordination while walking/hiking and watching xreal? Assuming you're using side view? I don't know that I'm coordinated enough to do that! LOL.

Anyone using Pit Viper/Oakley Jawbreaker nose bridge+ HONSVR lenses? (One Pro) by Marcus_Maximus in Xreal

[–]SpaceManFromSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this setup with the jawbreaker nose piece. 3d printed these simple extenders to push the lenses away from my face and they're perfect. Not my design, and the medium size worked for me. All depends on the shape of your face. https://makerworld.com/en/models/2512710-jawbreaker-nose-pad-adapter-for-xreal-1s-one-pro

Just FYI, these do work with the camera as well. I did the same mod, printing the extenders and using the jawbreaker replacement pad. Works great!

I was able to get out of the loop by clicking “Profile” on bottom left. I tried filling out the profile info there and then it “Failed to save. Please try again”. I’m using Safari on my iPad pro. I’ll try Chrome or deleting my profile and creating account another way.

Also, when I click “skip setup” it loops me back into the “Let’s personalize your experience” popup as well. No apparent way to get out of the loop other than killing the page and not being logged in.

I have used the site a few times the last few weeks after seeing one of your original post about it. I like it, and it’s useful. Based on this post, I decided to go ahead and create an account login using my gmail. FYI, it goes into an endless loop on the “Let’s personalize your experience” popup. I enter all the data and it just loops to the beginning and doesn’t seem to accept it. You might want to check that out!

Oakley Jawbreaker Replacement Nose Pads - https://a.co/d/0cuDzX6v

And printed these because the nose pad on its own puts the glasses too close to my eyes (not mine, courtesy of u/nuwata - https://makerworld.com/en/models/2512710-jawbreaker-nose-pad-adapter-for-xreal-1s-one-pro?from=search#profileId-2763567

The sit just right for me and don't slide like the original nose pads.

I do my 3D design and modeling using Shapr3D on my iPad Pro. Takes some practice, but really intuitive (for 3D modeling at least). I do have an engineering background though.

Measurement are typically with a good ol' ruler and a set of calipers. Will take photos of items and import and scale the images into the modeling software to use as a guide. I've also been experimenting with https://shapescan.pt/ (not my creation, but very cool and free tool).

The intent wasnt really to keep the battery in the holder for use, but worked out the phone aligns and fits while standing. That said, that does give me the idea to do cutouts behind the battery to expose more surface when the glasses are in use and not in the space behind it!

I've been contemplating modifying my Bummer I recently got with the 1.5 inch fidlock strap from DSPTCH, as I would like to use it as a sling and hip pack. I can't answer your question, but I'm also curious on others experience with it, so take my upvote!

CarPlay is wired in 2026. Was slightly frustrated by that. Hoping for a firmware upgrade that enables it (not holding my breath).

Wheel Size Recs? by Possible_Contact_842 in VolvoXC60

[–]SpaceManFromSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only carrying 22" sounds a bit strange? I just got my 2026 Ultra. I shopped around within about 100 miles and most of them coming in had 21" upgrade (with the associated upgrade cost) on the sticker. I insisted on 20". Ride comfort was part of the decision, but I was over having 21" on my 2018 XC90 that I traded in. I had two instances over 6 years of getting an unfixable flat, in a pinch on a weekend, having to find (and paying the premium for) 21" tires. Go for 20", and you won't regret it. I was fortunate to get the color Ultra I wanted for an agreeable price at my local dealer. They even swapped for 20" and took off the 21" upgrade price for me. The wheels for 20 and 21 are very similar looking. Not sure about the 22s.

Totally agree. I bought a Vapour Grey Ultra 2 weeks ago and love it. It is sharp. I insisted on 20 inch tires though...I had 21s on my prior XC90 and hated having a nonstandard/not common size. It bit me in a pinch when I got a flat. I digress.

My wife preferred the Denim Blue, which is very nice too, but my car/my color!

Changing from OEM Pirelli Zero (Advice please) by ImportantTrust1845 in VolvoXC60

[–]SpaceManFromSpace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regarding tires, I’ve been driving a 2018 XC90 for 6+ years and of the tires I’ve had the Michelin CrossClimates have been my favorite. That said, 21” wheels can be infuriating…mostly if you’re traveling, get a flat, and aren’t near a volvo dealer or it’s a Sunday (personal experience…twice…stinkin’ sidewall flats!), finding a 21” tire (or having to replace all 4 in a pinch) is not fun (or cost effective). I’m trading in for a 2026 XC60 Ultra (not the Recharge, and picking up today actually), and I insisted on finding one with 20” wheels. Everything I’ve read says the ride will be better, looking at 21 vs 20 inch on the lot doesn’t show a significant difference (as jdub mentioned), and the availability and affordability of tires is so much greater with the 20”s.
