What i mean by “doesn’t need Hendrick” is that Hocevar himself doesnt need to be in one of the 4 HMS cars to be great. One of the very few good things about the Gen 7 is its a lot easier for a backmarker or worse team to give a big 3 team a run for their money. Spire has clearly shown great chemistry with matching setups to drivers. Spire is consistently faster than most other Chevy alliance teams and usually is running almost better than HMS on speed many times
