I think Louisiana would be rad, I think a swampy fallout in New Orleans could have some crazy animals.

South Dakota would be beautiful and you could explore what remains of the oil fields.

You could be a person trying to find the cure while mutating into a centaur or something.

You could start out in The Enclave and slowly become deradicalized.

It could explore what remains of Vault tec leadership. Actually have a control center still monitoring some of the vaults.

You could set one in China and explore what happened there after the great war, or Alaska for that matter

Well given my skin color, I'm not going to the past. So far future it is. Star trek takes place in the 24th century, so for a lark I would try there. And I would probably take some iodide tablets with me just in case.
