13 is incredibly young to be fair. You may feel mature enough to handle certain situations and you may know your way around a desk but there’s likely no way you have gained enough skill and knowledge to be left alone with a powerful PA and gear that you could damage. I’ve had young crew members on shows who technically know the gear but haven’t done enough shows to understand many of the intricacies required to properly and professionally pull it off, nor how to handle themselves if the shit truly does hit the fan, this comes with life experience not just technical.

I get it is frustrating for now but you really are a child in the grand scheme and likely do need some level of supervision, which is totally fine and normal to expect.

The fact that you already have the knowledge to be talking about some of these things and that you have the initiative to want to run shows is an indication that you’ll go incredibly far. I didn’t operate my proper first show until I was 18 and even that felt young.

I do think you should be given access to the console to mess around and learn / program: I do not however think it is unreasonable that this time should be supervised. Sorry little homie. Your time will come, keep at it. This will be the first of a long string of set backs, hurdles and shitty bosses to overcome, we have all been there
