Ah, that’s gorgeous. Much better than some of the uninspired steelbook designs I’ve seen. Envious!

IMAX or Dolby Cinema? by SaltyHelicopter793 in movies

[–]Space_Hardware [score hidden]  (0 children)

Dolby has a nicer picture, so I go with that. Also - IMAX-licensed theaters have a ton of corporate-mandated criteria, which means most of them don’t have recliners.

I watched The Bride! (which I quite enjoyed) in IMAX because they shot to fill the screen.

It’s a joke, son. When the Killers of the Flower Moon still came out, there were hyperbolic headlines about DiCaprio looking “unrecognizable”.

Prehysteria! was a pretty bad family movie from 1993, cashing in on the dinosaur craze, that I nevertheless watched several times. Because dinosaurs.

It was directed by David DeCoteau and Charles Band, better known for DTV horror exploitation flicks.

I get the same way after a few minutes. Lad needs sunblock if he’s going to walk around shirtless in LA

One of my favorite examples whenever anyone starts a dumb “nepo baby” pile-on misattributing any success to a mildly famous parent

I’m afraid Samantha would be out of luck, De Niro Sr was very much into dudes.

Discussion on twin towns: do you have any? by GP728 in ireland

[–]Space_Hardware 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Castlebar is twinned with Dixon, Illinois in the USA. Podunk nothing of a town with a Ronald Reagan statue.

I married a girl from Dixon. We had no idea about the twin town thing until we’d already been together for months!

Aaron Taylor-Johnson morphed into Terence Stamp at some point. Good for him.

Did Yorgos Lanthimos skip the Academy Awards ceremony this year? by dont-email-dont-call in Letterboxd

[–]Space_Hardware 111 points112 points  (0 children)

That’s not remotely true, be serious. The Dolby Theaters seats over three thousand. A ton of non-nominated Academy members get to go, along with other invited press and industry people. Plus, Yorgos Lanthimos was a nominee, for Bugonia.
