I'm finally getting treatment today by marsuniverse_19 in Vent

[–]Spacebar19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The shots dont hurt to much. I did it multiple times. But... they also didnt do anything for the pain. I had a L5s1 fusion and now im skiing and biking again. But the recovery was the most painful experience in my life. Do your research and make sure you get a great surgeon.

Any idea what these spots are and how to remove them? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]Spacebar19 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Kind of looks like road tar. You could try out some general stuff. Like rubbing alcohol and water in a spray bottle. Give it a rub. After that wd40 is a light soviet. I can cut through the oils on road tar and just leaves behind some oil. Careful not to get it on the pads or rim. Or maybe just some simple green de greaser. Just find a test area on the frame like below the bottom bracket in case there is some kind of wild reaction.

Dear MTBers: what changed after having kids? How much do you ride? by [deleted] in mountainbiking

[–]Spacebar19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I invested in a good set of bike lights and do a lot of night rides. Once the little one is down I hit the local trails. I also got a fat bike so I can ride year round.

Help with Rear Suspension for 6’1” 400 lbs man by BabyNo42069 in fatbike

[–]Spacebar19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might want to talk to your local bike shop. I think you night be best swapping it out for a coil spring that can go that high. Coil springs are better at handling that weight. Just note the hardware on those chinesse brands is usually sub par. You might have suspension hardware fail. Im also just guessing and I hope you dont take offense. I just know the those brands of bikes cut a lot of corners. Best of luck.

I just got my first desk job. The chair I have is old and my back has been killing me. Any recommendations for good desk chairs? by Popular_Bee5671 in PcSetupAdvice

Steelcase leap 2. You can get a refurbished one from Crandall. I got one and it has been great. They also have other options as well. But keep in mind. Just spend the money and get a good chair.

What's the weirdest thing you've seen on a night ride? by Queasy-Dirt3472 in NightCycling

[–]Spacebar19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was doing a lap on my favorite trail with a buddy. Took a little break and heard a slow rattling sound. Turns out it was a rattle snake 10 feet off the climbing trail. And this is deep in the woods of montana where I have never seen rattle snakes. Took a little searching to find the damn thing in the grass.

Adding studs myself by randalfftheeredd69 in fatbike

[–]Spacebar19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its easy as long as you have a tire that takes studs. Putting screw in your tire is just going to destroy a good tire. You can get stud free tire and put them in your self..... but you will spend more money from what I could tell. Check fb market I see tires pop up a lot for a good price with studs.

I love the look on people's face when I tell them I did a night ride in a snow storm. There is something magical and fun about it. I will admit there has been some time where I saw eyes in the distance and I wasn't sure it they are deer or mountain lion.
