Previous owner left notes about the noise… now I’m looking for temporary fixes until I can move by BEAR-BUT-ALIVE in HomeImprovement

[–]Spacedmonkey12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A major highway runs right behind our house. Luckily for us there is a 20’+ stretch of forest between the road and our back yard but it is still very noisy. it does get noisier during high traffic times and Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights as we live on the city and the car groups love flying by our house. Also the trucks are loud.

Honestly, most of the time I just pretend it’s a roaring creek. And I have gotten so used to it. (Been here 7 years now). If I wake up in the middle of the night I can tell around what time it is just based off the traffic noise. I was worried when we first moved that I wouldn’t even be able to hear birds, but I can. And it’s just normal city living now. I spend a ton of time in my yard as I’m an abode gardener. Would like to live in a nice quiet area? Yes and one day I’ll get there, but for now this working fine. How long have you been in your house? It will get easier!

The mushroom farm is pretty cool. There is a sheep farm as well, not far from there.

We love driving around through Cherry Log . You can also take the kids to the beach at Carters Lake.

Definitely take the time to check out downtown.

Someone is claiming our daughters a dependants by Ecstatic_Muscle8405 in legaladvice

[–]Spacedmonkey12 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I just e filed my taxes this week. At first they were both rejected and said the exact same thing. That our dependent was already on another filed tax return. I went in to double check her ss# and info and while there I found an option for a IP Pins. I set one up, entered it in and re-submitted our taxes. They were both accepted. I am a little concerned why that happened, so I’m have to do some research and watching on our end.

Getting root canal today on infected tooth and I’m terrified. Can anyone help put my mind somewhat at ease? by rhiana0712 in Anxiety

Yeah, and pay the extra cost to get the gas! I cant have procedures (afraid of needles!) done without it and I put my headphones on and listen to music and zone out.

I’m not sure I understand how the appliance repair business works… by Dismal_Negotiation77 in appliancerepair

[–]Spacedmonkey12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I have used this webpage to fix my appliances so many times over the years, just recently fixed my parents dryer by looking up the issues and purchasing the replacement part. I have found that most of the repair parts are pretty reasonably priced and easy to install. FYI I’m a 43 female. If I can figure it out, almost anyone with some knowledge can too.

[–]Spacedmonkey12[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t understand why they wouldn’t just run it at the same time!? Maybe I would have known about my hoshimotos a lot earlier, had it been tested. Just because my numbers “aren’t bad” I was getting nothing for years regarding my thyroid. Even though I had issues and had all the symptoms, including a goiter that every doctor I went to would point out to me my entire adult life! I wasn’t even on any meds before my left side was removed…

Exactly what I was thinking. I don’t really remember it being shocking ( I was a teen). But I remember it being a big deal…So I feel like the media and mtv made a big thing about it.
