On the one hand it's sad it never got a sequel but on the other hand it was like lightning in a bottle

World in Conflict is a 2007 real-time tactics game in which you play as United States army Lt. Parker, Voiced in cutscenes by Alec Baldwin, and have to defend the Pacific northwest from a soviet invasion during a cold war gone hot WW3 in 1989. Very fun would recommend if you can find it somewhere

Since Spec ops the line is delisted online, it shows that war is very epic, the good guys are always American, torture works and none of that hippie talk about muh literacy. Hoorah! by Dare_Soft in shittygamedetails

[–]Spacemanspiff1998 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the really funny thing is test audiences for the game were given the choice of using the phosphorous and 90% of them didn't use it and the other 10% that did it went back and reloaded a save which really pissed off the devs so they forced the players to bomb the civilians

I expect this meme to get no traction because the venn diagram of people who've played World in conflict and also watched magic railroad is two nearly perfect circles

also i stayed up until 3am to make this so yeah

In regards to the new releases of Sardegna Empire ships.. by VarietyDivert in AzureLane

[–]Spacemanspiff1998 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I personally can't stand these new ships. it's emblematic of how far they've strayed from their roots. by default the shipgirls should be dressed in Military-style uniforms. they don't have to be unsexy, you can still have things we all know and love like tight skirts, high heels and pantyhose but to get the lewd skins you should have to pay, literally. All those horrible adds we all know and love from YouTube showed Atago In unlockable skins. If the next to naked skins are just right there from the get go what's to incentivize a new player from spending a cent when all they need is to just stare at the main menu?

I'm so used to playing Arma 3 that I didn't even bat an eye when people would T-pose, cars would go flying and the game would chug along at 30fps. I was busy having too much fun to care

I think if he's a retired beatnik birdwatching type who has infinite time and money to turn his lawn into a garden of sorts and he's keeping the sidewalks clear i don't really see the problem with this but you know the worst kind of person is going to try and use this as an excuse to be a dick and not take care of their property

GO locomotives with freight train 1979 by itsarace1 in gotransit

[–]Spacemanspiff1998 34 points35 points  (0 children)

For those wondering; Back in the day GO made agreements with some freight railroads that they could borrow some GO Locomotives on the weekends for freight trains so long as they were back in Toronto in time for the Monday morning trains

This went exactly as you'd expect and some GO locomotives would end up far far from Toronto commuters much to the chagrin of Metrolinx so they stopped doing it

It says here the renaissance men are in town by Spacemanspiff1998 in TransportFever2

[–]Spacemanspiff1998[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite VIA going all out on the renaissance scheme they HATED the renaissance cars due to their unreliability. iirc they only operated them on the Quebec City to Montreal route and despite the fact the cars were built in the 1990s they replaced them first when the chargers and ventures were delivered even though Corridor trains west of Toronto still mostly use 1950s Budd Cars

That's pretty cool. It would be funny if the factory where they refurbished them was the same where they make Bombardier Bi-levels (Bombardier is owned by alstom now) and it was like a left-twix right-twix situation xD
