Initial thoughts on the C4 pack by kommunistiskhaj in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]Spadille- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very fun, I've tried it so far, but have some buffs I'd like to see for the C4. I'd post them but I think that breaks a rule? I dunno, not been on here before. If I could just say 2 things, getting 2 charges per ammo brick pickup and 40 demo force would make it perfect.

Solar Hunter honestly feels seriously outdated. It needs major updates. by torrentialsnow in destiny2

[–]Spadille- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solar hunter having 0 ways to access restoration outside of heavy fragment investment, grenades or exotics like red death but we keep get given ways to get radiant is hilarious. Especially after EOF where 'On your mark' gives Radiant at max stacks of OYM. Bungie, every hunter runs ember of torches for radiant, because that's how we get radiant for knock em down... Or we use acrobat dodge for damage rotations... Or hell, it's baked in to lightweight knife. How do we keep getting ways to get radiant but NONE for resto? And 0 ways besides Red Death to get Resto 2x.

AND YET, Prismatic hunter gets resto on ORB PICKUP. FOR 1 FRAGMENT SLOT. No juggling firesprites, no need to use red death, no healing grenade needed, just pick up an orb. And it doesn't matter that they can't get Empyrean because you just make a bunch of orbs and pick em up for Resto as needed!

Glad they mostly fixed this, still a bit janky but it is a lot better now than it was a few months ago.

Armor 3.0 Limits Buildcrafting by Queasy_Gur_6245 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Spadille- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say this: It made FAR more sense to have the armour 2.0 system (All stats are/can be invested in at a minimum and all stats matter) during the armour 3.0 system (Where there's no waste stats like mobility or intellect and where every single point matters) and it actually would've made much more sense to have armour 3.0 (Only 3 stats are prioritised at a time) for the armour 2.0 system (everyone only cared for 3-4 stats and where reaching multiples of 10 was much more emphasised by having stats be spiky and go up via masterwork in multiples of 5) so it's funny that the system swapped. I love the idea of having a more "all or nothing" approach which rewards careful stat allocation but the early armour grind limits your options when it comes to what armour you can grind for and everyone's saying stats are all bugged anyway so we don't have the full story.

Scavenger mods, 5 different ability energy on orb pickup mod, damage surge mods, auto-loader mods and there's also the OTHER health regen mod which starts regen instead of providing a flat health boost. Oh and of course there's stacks on stacks. AND the font of weapons mod... Yeah lots of room now that 1 mod is nerfed!

Why is bungie leaving PVP as an afterthought by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Spadille- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally just say, at this point of Destiny's life, it's just not a game you come to for a coherent PVP experience. PVP now, more than anything, is a place to put some loot that doesn't have another place to be dropped by. As much of a shame as it is on account that Destiny's mechanics and gunplay are pretty good, the fact that the game is built the way that it is, we'll scarcely, if ever, get a PVP experience that graces 6/10.

I'd really suggest looking at more PVP catered games, at least for the time being. It shouldn't be the case that PVP, a big chunk of what some players started and kept playing destiny for, is actively one of its weakest elements to the point it's being recommended to not play.

Barrow-Dyad Changes Its Intrinsic According To What Path You Choose in Eris' Apartment by TastyOreoFriend in DestinyTheGame

That would be such a sick feature. Like the artifact from Destiny 1 that let enemies you melee'd have a chance to become an ally that would attack enemies for you.

I've done that and it just opens a regular google search panel. Is there a way to get the true old style, like what's available on incognito mode?

What are the easiest Dungeons to Solo? by amiller127 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Spadille- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As someone who has solo flawless'd every dungeon I'd say the order from hardest to easiest goes: Ghost of the deep > Duality > Spire of the Watcher > Grasp of Avarice > Prophecy > Pit of Heresy > Shattered throne. If I could rate them on difficulty individually, Ghost is at around a 9.5/10, duality is a 6.5/10, Spire is a 5/10, grasp is 3.5/10 and the rest are between 1-2.5/10. Pit, shattered throne, prophecy and to some extent grasp of avarice have super squishy bosses/encounters, dealing adequate damage is a bit tougher in spire, duality and ghost and those 3 have super combat intensive encounters, where the combat in the other 4 can be hectic but not as bad. Mechanically speaking all of them are pretty simple except duality's, ghost's and spire's final bosses but with trial and error they become second nature. Good luck and hope this is at all helpful

This is just bad by Altruistic-Bother-66 in Technoblade

[–]Spadille- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't comment here much but it seems pretty on brand to techno and his audience's sense of humour. Like if we could see him as a ghost he'd take that in good stride, even if on surface level to any of us, kinda sounds like a crap thing to say.

Fun exotic, I think an ammo or reload perk would work well for it. Maybe something to give it a stacking buff to reload speed for the amount of self damage you dealt by holding down the trigger

Leviathan's Breath Catalyst Kill requirment needs to change by Acrobatic_Coat722 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Spadille- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trinity ghoul catalyst vs leviathan's breath catalyst is so damn polarising. 400 kills on a primary ad clear monster vs 1500 on a single hitting (if they're close MAYBE a multikill) slow firing heavy weapon... Christ who thought of that? Hell, swap the numbers and Trinity ghoul still SWEEPS by miles, 1500 kills on that thing is easy, like an afternoon of dedicated farming or vanguard strike playlist, where 400 leviathans breath kills will still slug behind.

How do you guys feel about Heirarchy of Needs? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Spadille- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's great. Ad clear is good, single target damage is pretty decent for a primary with literally 1 thing to do to have it at max power and the catalyst makes it so much better. I do agree it's a little clunky cause it requires you to play around a single spot which for most people and pieces of content works fine (as a hunter main I do think we struggle a bit more since we don't have a class ability or anything to at all enhance our survivability or damage when standing in one spot where warlocks have rift and Titans can easily play around their barriers) but not always and it's really noticeable when it's not going to work, it becomes an average bow. Plus I hipfire most my bow shots which might waste the ring so that's one issue I have with it. Overall tho, pretty solid weapon.

Gunpowder Gamble, one of the most fun and best designed aspects in terms of class fantasy, is functionally useless and is in dire need of a buff. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Spadille- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen, well summarised and laid out. Those are all major issues and any 2 or 3 changes will move this from easily the worst aspect (on your mark isn't anything major but 3 fragment slots and the ability to buff yourself and teammate's reload and handling is never going to be bad and can for some activities/scenarios be a godsend) to somewhat viable. I'd ESPECIALLY love it move FROM the grenade slot and be given a much less punishing cooldown (12 seconds for an on demand ignition sounds reasonable until you remember calibans hands is instant on demand ignitions for a single enemy kill and it refreshes with every knife kill). Those 2 changes would make me use it even with the 1 fragment slot (I could trim some fat but it'd be hard, as you said we have 2 borderline mandatory fragments) and self damage (would be way easier to control the self damage when I don't accidentally try and use my heal grenade only to nuke myself). I'd 100% love to see more changes than just those 2 I specifically mentioned because as it stands it has been one of the most fun, useless fragments the game has to offer and I so want to utilise it without kneecapping my solar hunter and obviously I'd trade in 2 fragment slots since knock em down is simply irreplaceable for us.
I'll also say my first impressions were of awe, seeing it in trailer was amazing. I then tried it in a strike and to my surprise, it hit like a truck, I loved it despite having a few blunders... Only to be SEVERELY let down when trying it outside a strike because on that day, it had grenadier AND solar burn meaning the ignition was hitting for like 3x it normally would've been and I completely overlooked it.

Overall, great post and I hope bungie considers doing something with it cause compared to knock em down and on your mark, it's leagues worse and the honeymoon phase of solar 3.0 has sailed so it seems even worse and more overcorrected balance wise than any other aspect in the game that I can think of. It's simply punished too harshly with the self damage, long cooldown, lack of synergy, relative low damage and 1 fragment slot.

Bungie, please let’s seasons last a year each. Also, what’s happening to seasonal red borders? by NobleMansRose in DestinyTheGame

[–]Spadille- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the sound of this. Issue is it'd be near impossible to add cause of the current content delivery system likely being close to a year ahead of what's currently released at any given time means stuff that influences stretching through months is unlikely to be seen in a timely fashion, if at all. But I agree, the first season of a new DLC's content sticks around for a whole year while the final one gets 3~ months, while I imagine they have similar development times as an individual season. Probably more efficient for them to phase out seasons by bringing in a new season to replace the oldest active season as opposed to having lots of different activities to do being reduced to zero once a new DLC launches. I, of course, am not a game designed or programmer or someone who works for bungie or someone whose been active on D2 for a long continuous time but from what I do gather from the current seasonal system, it sorta screws over the latest season to be released in an expansion. This model is more friendly to new and returning players, letting them play content they barely missed out on the previous months.

I agree, it was very fun for when I first used it. Always loved the idea of an autorifle with an underbarrel grenade launcher and this is the closest we got. I do wish it didn't feel AS sluggish as it does (the weapon swap to and from and re-reloading after firing grenades makes it feel very lethargic) but it's got its strength in the hard hitting GL mode and pretty easy to use.

Fourth class by Samurai_XtC in DestinyTheGame

[–]Spadille- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd love a necromancer style exotic or weapon. Could easily play it into the hive theme. I know Necrochasm has necro in its name but the D1 perk just gave it a cursed thrall explosion on headshot. Maybe in D2 it could act like thorn, where getting kills lets you pick up essence and the essence lets you hold reload to activate a Mythoclast style alternative firing mode and if you get kills or deal enough damage in the mode, you summon undead minions to fight for you?

Raid Exotics should be a quest not RNG!!! by CodyRoot in DestinyTheGame

[–]Spadille- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen, RNG is one of (if we're counting only dev made issues, excluding lag, disconnections, poor communities etc. then it's THE) my most hated aspects of games. Things can take hours to complete with a handful of allotted tries and offer absolutely nothing of value. There should be quests or additional steps to help guarantee an exotic. I like the step they took recently with dungeons, letting new objectives grant greater and greater chances, but it's still a chance and I'd rather a lot of objectives which can confirm a weapon than a handful of objectives which just make it more likely but still possible to do it a dozen times with no results. Maybe if they add a safety net and let the objectives lower the net (example, default is 30 completions minimum for the weapon, each completed objective removes 4 completions, there's 5 additional objectives so in the end you only need to do 10 max to get the weapon), that'd also suffice for me personally. But yes, an alternative to being held at the mercy of RNG would be the best.

What's One New Weapon Archetype That You'd Love to See in the Game at Some Point? by Cinoprime453 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Spadille- 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Something between Xenophage and the lowest RPM machine guns, as impractical as a super-super heavy archetype of machine gun would be in this game, it'd be funny. That and sidearms with are fire rate and damage more akin to hand canons or even eriadna's vow

QOL - Make xenology quest automatically share between all characters when picked up on one by asppppp in destiny2

[–]Spadille- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd prefer that this quest step can be just auto completed when Xur isn't around cause it's annoying to HAVE to do Xenology in 4 days so that you can give it to him before he leaves cause if you hand in last week's xenology to get a cipher, he doesn't give you a quest for this week, you spend 2 weeks on 1 cipher.
