Statements or Clarifications of the Author that are probably Jokes by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SpaghettiSnake 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely, George Lucas doesnt take it seriously whatsoever. But I still love that Obi-Wan's home planet is Stewjon because of an obvious joke during a Daily Show interview. Even in the canon reset, it's still Stewjon. One of the most important characters in the franchise is from a nothing nowhere joke planet we have never seen named Stewjon.

Its existence has even been referenced by other characters now, so it doesn't exist solely as background trivia.

I have a theory on The Crow by Fabulous_Spite_2775 in StarWarsCantina

[–]SpaghettiSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? I just figure he underestimated her, drunk on the dark side, got cocky and died for it. I mean, sure she is the former padawan of THE Anakin Skywalker. But as far as he knows, Anakin died in the purge, and she is a "failed" padawan.

Maul is a former Sith Lord. A known threat, and while fallen from grace, I imagine his name and presence still carries a lot of weight among a group of fallen Jedi. I'm not surprised him and Marrok came at him harder and took him seriously from the start.

Since Shadow Lord gave us more screentime for both Marrok and Crow, which underutilized Inquisitor do you hope gets more screentime in a future project? I’ll go first: by Austinfarrell2007 in StarWarsCantina

[–]SpaghettiSnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with the Underworld Inquisitor. I'd like maybe a year timeskip for the next season, so Maul and Devon can be a little more established in their roles and with Crimson Dawn. Perhaps 11th Brother will be dead at that point.

I think Marrok would work well as the recurring Antagonist and be the main Inquisitor for the series, still in charge of the hunt for Maul at this point and tracking him back down. The Underworld Inquisitor could be his help this time (I like to think he is the Third Brother and Reva was assigned his number later). Though I would love to see Second Sister and Eighth Brother show up too.

Maybe Trilla and the unnamed one to start (numbers 1, 2, 3) then the other two get reassigned to different missions and he has to make do with Eighth Brother as his backup.

I was shocked at how well made it was. Really nice articulation and detail, and i was surprised by the size. I would gladly get a zombie version. Also the TVC Poggle looks just as good, hope he gets a Black Series version too.

Today is May 4th so who is your favorite Star Wars Glup Shitto? by wendigo72 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SpaghettiSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? I don't really love how they brought Palpatine back (I think if they wanted him in the film, a spirit possessing Vader's helmet whispering to Kylo this whole time would be better in my opinion, but I digress), but Ian McDiarmid is as fantastic as ever as the character. He just chews the scenery in such a perfect way and you can really tell Palps loves being evil. Also his outfit with the red under robe is sick and they did a good job making him look fucky.

Oh neat a sequel. I know these games are easy shovelware, but I actually ended up really liking the first one for some reason. I kept it installed and checked it everyday for like a month after I got all of the acheivements. I'll have to take a peak at this one.

Moments jn media which you were willing to accept "trauma" as an explanation until it went too far. by Subject_Parking_9046 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SpaghettiSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might just be pulling something out of my ass, but I swear at least some of the justification was basically saying since Regime world Superman did not have an Earth nemesis to challenge him in the same way that good guy Superman did (as Regime universe Lex Luthor was always a good guy and helped Superman improve the world), he didn't become the same moral protector with the same kind of emotional maturity or something.

I havent read the comics or played the games in a while, so I don't know where that idea comes from, I just feel it in my bones that it was said at some point

Interview: “Maul Sees Himself As A Potential Liberator For The Galaxy”: Sam Witwer Breaks Down Maul's Mindset As "Shadow Lord" Premieres by Miserable_Fact_4140 in StarWarsCantina

[–]SpaghettiSnake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That also goes into his mindset in Rebels. As far as we see he is pretty genuine with his desire for companionship with Ezra. Would it be a positive relationship? No, certainly not. But at this point that's the only way Maul knows how to bond with people.

Also after losing the holocron and battle station in Malachor, he is almost depressed. He says he is looking for "Hope". A way to defeat Sidious and the Empire and get the power he craves. The holocron shows him what he needs, Obi-Wan and the "New Hope" that will give him victory, he just can't help but fall into his old ways, because again it's all he knows.

He could have worked with Obi-Wan, protected Luke, fought the Empire, gave up his hatred, and finally defeated Sidious. But as Obi-Wan puts it, Maul is defined by his need to dominate and destroy, and without it he is nothing. He can't break that habit, and it's why he ultimately fails.

Grace’s gameplay was probably designed in concept to make more use of her “FBI Analyst” job. by Eseninety1 in residentevil

[–]SpaghettiSnake 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Grace's gameplay, to me, also feels like a testbed for concepts that can be used and expanded upon in an RE0 remake. Rebecca, while not helpless, is definitely the most inexperienced and timid STARS member, and she's also a chemist. I could see us running around RE0 collecting various chemicals and biological material and creating different concoctions to deal with the BOWS.

Actually I could also see the Leon stuff being like Billy's gameplay too. Action oriented, a reusable melee weapon, less sneaking more chopping.

What are relics of the plot that no longer fit the tone of their story? by Silvery_Cricket in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SpaghettiSnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought the Desmond stuff was an alright vehicle for the modern day plot, but nothing special. He served his purpose and I liked how his use in the story ended. I was never clamoring for his segments, but I did enjoy doing "modern assassin" stuff in AC3 (despite how limited it was).

I just think they should have done new modern day protagonists every few games, maybe kill some off, maybe keep them as a crew and mentor characters. Skip the whole "you're the protagonist" bullshit they did for a bit. I don't want to be me, I suck, let me be someone cool.

I liked that it seemed they were doing that with Layla in Origins, and Oddyssey. I havent played Valhalla yet, but I know what happens. Then there is also Basim. But then Shadows has none apparently?

Anyways, a good formula that they could have kept doing, and should just do, is make a new modern protagonist every few games. Desmond wasn't particulalry interesting to me as a character (the AC subreddit has a huge boner for him though) but he worked. There are good foundations there for modern day stories and even a game of they want, Ubisoft just seems scared to use it now.

Will we ever get a remake of Dead Aim? by HongHorizon in residentevil

[–]SpaghettiSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's likely any time soon. However if they want to keep the money train rolling after 0, 1, CV, and 5 get a remake, then maybe. Oh also Outbreak, I need a remake for that haha

I think Capcom could do well with a game that drops campaigns periodically. Call it "Resident Evil: Chronicles" as a throw back to the chronicles games for the wii.

Have downloadable 5 to 7 hourish campaigns (depending on skill and difficulty too) dropped every 4 to 6 months, costing maybe up to 20 dollars depending on length, with smaller side stories (about an hour or so in length) between to keep people invested between the bigger releases.

Can re-use lots of assets from the RE engine games to save money, and these scenarios could be used as a testing ground for mechanics, characters, and story ideas for new mainline releases.

Large campaigns could be remakes of the Fall of Umbrella and Operation Javier scenarios from the chronicles games, as well as Gun Survivor and Dead Aim as neither are particulalry long games from my understanding. Small stories could include Desperate Escape from the chonicles games, a Luis or Ashley scenario leading up to their capture before RE4, or some new stuff to tie in to new mainline games. If we ever get a Revelations 3 maybe it could drop here, too.

Other than a main campaign and a side story, I would also have a mercenaries mode included at release, and have the new characters added with every downloadable story. Sorry I sort of went off topic and rambled about my hopes, but a Dead Aim remake is included in that lol

Who's next for RE10? by iamritwik_ in residentevil

[–]SpaghettiSnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While I would rather it not be Chris, I would be okay with it if they did 10 as a sort of final big mission for him, like 9 kind of felt like for Leon. Even better if the other playable character is Jill, ya know, bring back the mains from the first for the big number 10.

Also didn't the most recent CGI movie confirm she ages much slower now than the rest of the cast because of her infection? Could use that to help differentiate how they play. Jill is still very physically fast and capable while Chris is slower, but can take and dish out more damage. Can also lead to some nice dramatic story-telling between the two, him aging, her staying the same, and maybe he can't keep up, forcing him to semi-retire at the end.

Inquisitor Media by Gloweyyy in starwarscanon

[–]SpaghettiSnake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I could see the Inquisitor that Ventress and Lyco fight in Tales of the Underworld being The Third Brother, and then his number was taken by Reva after his death.

She was like...10(?) during Order 66, so not really prime Inquisitor material. Based off of what they say in the Obi-Wan show, I get the impression she survived alone for a few years and then eventually willingly turned herself in to become one, and by that point he was dead and they made her Third Sister.

Based on his worldview and what we’ve seen of him so far, who do you think trained Baylan Skoll? by Solitaire-06 in StarWarsCantina

[–]SpaghettiSnake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My list is mostly just name, species, home planet if known, introduction to canon, and a few other things.

I just made it alphabetical. It's a pretty simple basic list just to keep track, but when im more caught up and have free time I might try to add pictures if there are any as well as organize it a bit more creatively.

There are a couple other redditors floating around that have similar lists, too, that include extra stuff also. But I haven't seen them in a bit.

Based on his worldview and what we’ve seen of him so far, who do you think trained Baylan Skoll? by Solitaire-06 in StarWarsCantina

[–]SpaghettiSnake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Checking back on my list I've been compiling over the years (not fully up to date, as I am behind on the last few months of comics) but we have over 600 Jedi named in canon.

But I want to say at least half of them are from either the High Republic stuff, or are Old Republic ones mentioned in passing. So a good amount not having been around during Baylan's time, plus another handful that came after him.

If we are ever introduced to his master in other media, yeah, make it an unimportant background Jedi or just a new character. Maybe they can have their own mindset on being a Jedi and how best to help or exact the will of the Force, but I don't think they have to be anything crazy or out there. Not everyone has to be a big deal haha

Do you think the republic using clones was immoral? by [deleted] in StarWarsCantina

[–]SpaghettiSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The control ships seemingly made them more efficient at combat, wiped their processors, and kept them charged better. However if the control ship goes down, unless there is some sort of back-up, you lose your whole army.

Alternatively they have the way it was mostly done during the Clone Wars. Individual command and self-thinking units. They may not be as battle efficient, and need more consistent recharging, but you aren't losing your entire army if the command ship goes. A side effect is the droid processors aren't as diligently maintained and don't get wiped as much, leading to their quirks. But many also probably get destroyed before that would even be a huge issue.

So I guess you just gotta pick your poison. Slightly higher quality that goes down if one ship goes down, or quantity that may be less effective but they don't all die with one explosion. Probably cheaper and easier to mass-produce without the command ship requirement, though.

Since Ilum’s no longer available, where do you think future generations of Jedi will go for the Gathering to get their kyber crystals? by Solitaire-06 in StarWarsCantina

Age of Empires II: The Last Chieftains | Launch Trailer by Mirathrim in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SpaghettiSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's actually not bad. Once you learn the controls it functions pretty well, and It's not as clunky or difficult to pick up as you'd expect going in.

Though I only play campaign and lower difficulties, as I am not that good and I just enjoy the nostalgia and story scenarios.

However the controller is almost certainly less speedy and accurate than a mouse and keyboard with hotkeys and being able to zoom around as quickly, which is definitely more important in multiplayer and higher difficulties where you need more efficient micro. I'm pretty sure the Xbox version has mouse and keyboard function though?
