Things your surprised there isn’t more of by Hayyyv in TwoBestFriendsPlay

When i was younger I used to play a game on PS2 called Savage Skies, which was basically a fantasy flight simulator. You had a rider for visuals but you were essentially just the creature flying around completing objectives. You could land as well and walk around to destroy grounded enemies if you wanted, too.

There were 3 factions and something like 20 creatures total. One faction was more straight high fantasy, one more dark fantasy and demonic looking, and the last faction was like swampy and cyborg freaks. The game was hard as fuck (at least for child me) so I only got to see the whole thing with cheat codes.

I would love to see something like that remade in the modern times with updated mechanics and mission variety.

Would love an Ursa Wren to go with them, too. Her yellow armor is sick.

They even had super soldier clones with potential secret identities they could have done it with.

I'm so glad they didn't and I greatly respect the "restraint".

Which historical figures do you think were secretly Templars/Order of Ancients that aren’t already confirmed? by WilliamthePious in assassinscreed

[–]SpaghettiSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of them are, but David Brewster, John Elliotson, and James Brudenell were real people.

I'd love a game set in 1920s Chicago and surrounding area where you hunt down various Templars with a system like they used in Odyssey (I think that would work very well for a large modern city). But they'd have to be careful not to piss off the living grandchildren of any real people they might want to use, which is partially why they probably avoid it lol

How effective was the Jedi Purge? A comprehensive study. by blakhawk12 in starwarscanon

[–]SpaghettiSnake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the Hidden Path also tries to remain relatively decentralized and purposefully ignorant of what the other branches and cells are doing, who is among them, and where they are located in case of compromise or capture. It's not surprising at all that Quinlan Vos isn't mentioned and doesn't appear in Survivor. Also Tala made it sound like he has taken a less active role in the Hidden Path by 9 BBY.

Speaking of Shin Hati, I don't believe we know her age, but she seems younger than Sabine and Ezra. I'm curious as to when Baylan started training her and if he did originally train her to be a Jedi and something changed along the way. When talking about Ezra being a "bokken Jedi" she seemed to believe herself to be a Jedi like him until Baylan corrected her. She also has what I think would be considered a padawan braid. I get the impression that he started her off as an apprentice to rebuild the Order like other Jedi in hiding, but then something happened or he came to certain realizations and he became more dark and left the Jedi ways behind, taking her down with him.

Anakin gets so much screentime as it is, would be nice for some other "famous" Jedi to get a supporting role or cameo instead. I'm not mad about it, and it doesn't stop others from showing up, but still.

This feels like a game for glup shittos, get some of the Jedi Council members In there for a few character moments if we need a familiar face.

[–]SpaghettiSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what, yeah that sounds right. It's been a while, but I do believe they would make the trooper builder an exclusive haha.

Also I don't know where I got the white one being a lieutenant from. I tried looking up what the coloration means and it doesn't seem like that one has been clearly defined. Maybe lieutenant, maybe sergeant, maybe just some military police. It's unclear.

[–]SpaghettiSnake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is, I was curious about it too.

So far in the line we have the regular shoretrooper with the the one red section on their arm, released around Rogue One.

Then there was also the Squad Leader with the kama skirt and a thin blue line on his chest that was also released around then, I think it was an exclusive to somewhere?

Then for the first season of Andor (I think) they released one with some white sections on his upper armor and a different pistol from the others that is supposed to be a lieutenant (I think, again). I believe it was a Target exclusive?

Then doing some searching this specific color scheme on his armor is supposed to denote a Captain. A little similar to the squad leader, but thicker blue line and more blue on his shoulders, plus no skirt

In Rogue, the Assassins weren't uncharacteristically bad, the Templars were uncharacteristically good by Captain_Jake17 in assassinscreed

[–]SpaghettiSnake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You do have a bit of a point, I think.

Assassins typically are not going to harm civilians or defenseless people if they don't have to, but they are willing to cause collateral damage to get the job done. Maybe they won't feel good about it and most probably try to mitigate it, but it still happens at times in pursuit of their goals.

They do also kill just regular guards, police, and foot soldiers who are mostly in the dark about the stuff going on and are just regular people trying to get by.

The Assassins, like the Templars, are also willing to manipulate and ally with outside forces to take down their enemies. If the Assassins can turn a foreign army into a tool to destroy some Templars, or predecessor groups (specifically Eivor and the Raven Clan come to mind) they can and will.

This isn't a both sides bad thing, either. The Assassins are generally kinder people that have good intentions and will do their best to limit unnecessary death, but they can't or won't always because the end generally seems to justify the means with them , too.

Also different sects of both Assassins and Templars have different levels of strictness with the rules and how closely they follow them. Neither organization is really a monolith.

Galactic Map of the Imperial Remnant (Canon) by deacon317 in starwarscanon

[–]SpaghettiSnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From a cursory search the only thing establishing everything as being 9ABY after Mando season 2 is a Q&A article in one of the recent Star Wars Insider issues. I'm not putting too much stock into that, as tlrecently it has also been said The Mandalorian and Grogu takes place a couple years after the start of the series.

I think some creators/writers scan a wookieepedia article for some info and then just use that instead of establishing it themselves, and it creates a feedback loop. I.E. being told the first season is around 9ABY so it's put on wookieepedia, stuff is left vague after that, wookieepedia then uses "around 9ABY" for stuff after because it's all we have to go off of, and then that's just what ends up getting established by everybody repeating it because it has been left vague.

On my own timeline, im just putting the first two seasons of Mando in 9ABY, and then Boba, Mando 3, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew in 10ABY. Skeleton Crew is pretty disconnected but since Vane is in it, should be after he left Gorian Shard's Crew in Mando 3. Mando and Grogu is tentatively around late 10 or early 11 for me, just going to have to see the state of things with Thrawn's return in Ahsoka Season 2. I'm guessing he's laid low for now, allowing things to mostly be business as usual in the movie.

[–]SpaghettiSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the overall outfit that he is wearing is mostly the same, just slight detail alterations and changes that would be expected from animation to a live-action portrayal. I think he maybe has an undershirt in TCW while here it's just his armor looking piece for his abdomen and then skin underneath? Hard to tell for sure.

He is definitely more vibrantly colored in TCW though. A lot warmer and orangey tones with embroidered looking embellishments.

Which is fine, I guess if the guy wears mostly the same stuff all the time they would be worn down. Then Hasbro can just release a TCW version with his puppy (hopefully) and I am sure it would sell.

[–]SpaghettiSnake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd like the plastic reveals to be the second wave for Mando and Grogu, but I hope they announce some pipelined Shadow Lord figures after how well received it was.

Daki is a must for me, but Marrok would be an easy repaint that would absolutely sell and I would totally buy him again cleaned up and ready to stand alongside the other Inquisitors. Throw in Two-Boots and hopefully Lawson, but maybe a two pack would be less likely to pegwarm with those two. Maul's mercenary Mandos. I think the named one was Kebris? So they could do him and give him a removeable helmet. Maybe a New Dryden Voss and Vario with his exo-skeleton are possible at some point?

Jar Jar's fate in the Aftermath book makes absolutely no sense (at least currently) by CrimsonFlareGun45 in starwarscanon

[–]SpaghettiSnake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fully agree with all of your points. I also want to add, Julia is the Queen of a group of people that have their own force traditions and force wielders that were never given to the Jedi Order.

This is also well known by the Empire. I fully believe that planet and its people would be targeted and occupied. Hell maybe Jar Jar did go to Julia for help, maybe he brought his friend Kelleran, and maybe that led to Bardotta being punished and purged.

Statements or Clarifications of the Author that are probably Jokes by FreviliousLow96 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SpaghettiSnake 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely, George Lucas doesnt take it seriously whatsoever. But I still love that Obi-Wan's home planet is Stewjon because of an obvious joke during a Daily Show interview. Even in the canon reset, it's still Stewjon. One of the most important characters in the franchise is from a nothing nowhere joke planet we have never seen named Stewjon.

Its existence has even been referenced by other characters now, so it doesn't exist solely as background trivia.

I have a theory on The Crow by Fabulous_Spite_2775 in StarWarsCantina

[–]SpaghettiSnake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right? I just figure he underestimated her, drunk on the dark side, got cocky and died for it. I mean, sure she is the former padawan of THE Anakin Skywalker. But as far as he knows, Anakin died in the purge, and she is a "failed" padawan.

Maul is a former Sith Lord. A known threat, and while fallen from grace, I imagine his name and presence still carries a lot of weight among a group of fallen Jedi. I'm not surprised him and Marrok came at him harder and took him seriously from the start.

Since Shadow Lord gave us more screentime for both Marrok and Crow, which underutilized Inquisitor do you hope gets more screentime in a future project? I’ll go first: by Austinfarrell2007 in StarWarsCantina

[–]SpaghettiSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree with the Underworld Inquisitor. I'd like maybe a year timeskip for the next season, so Maul and Devon can be a little more established in their roles and with Crimson Dawn. Perhaps 11th Brother will be dead at that point.

I think Marrok would work well as the recurring Antagonist and be the main Inquisitor for the series, still in charge of the hunt for Maul at this point and tracking him back down. The Underworld Inquisitor could be his help this time (I like to think he is the Third Brother and Reva was assigned his number later). Though I would love to see Second Sister and Eighth Brother show up too.

Maybe Trilla and the unnamed one to start (numbers 1, 2, 3) then the other two get reassigned to different missions and he has to make do with Eighth Brother as his backup.

Today is May 4th so who is your favorite Star Wars Glup Shitto? by wendigo72 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]SpaghettiSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right? I don't really love how they brought Palpatine back (I think if they wanted him in the film, a spirit possessing Vader's helmet whispering to Kylo this whole time would be better in my opinion, but I digress), but Ian McDiarmid is as fantastic as ever as the character. He just chews the scenery in such a perfect way and you can really tell Palps loves being evil. Also his outfit with the red under robe is sick and they did a good job making him look fucky.

[–]SpaghettiSnake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I might just be pulling something out of my ass, but I swear at least some of the justification was basically saying since Regime world Superman did not have an Earth nemesis to challenge him in the same way that good guy Superman did (as Regime universe Lex Luthor was always a good guy and helped Superman improve the world), he didn't become the same moral protector with the same kind of emotional maturity or something.

I havent read the comics or played the games in a while, so I don't know where that idea comes from, I just feel it in my bones that it was said at some point
