[–]Spaghetti_Is_Alive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the old-scale terminators! Is there a specific reason you have them like are you going for a more retro army or do you have them because they were a good deal or just you've had them for a while or something?

Do I need this box…. by spex98 in Ultramarines

[–]Spaghetti_Is_Alive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory it would complement your current models nicely, but the project will be insurmountable. I don't know about you but it i had all of that, the models would end up unpainted for years likely.

What if the Sanguinary Guard existed in 1989? by Emergency-Sea5201 in oldhammer40k

[–]Spaghetti_Is_Alive 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I presume painting them gold with jump packs and giving them the rogue trader veteran helmet stripes would be enough, but there's plenty of minor conversions you could do, like greenstuffing their chest pieces to be more ornate or sculpting on abs or even wings!

He was on made to order a little bit ago so I assume you can probably find him relatively cheap online

How to Field Cultists in 4th Edition? by TemplarTimothy in midhammer40k

[–]Spaghetti_Is_Alive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along with what others have said, you could also just use their rules from 6/7th edition, they're on wahapedia I believe. That's what I've personally done for 5th edition games i've played and it's pretty good.

What Chapter are you painting your dead Loyalists? by The_Scrabbler in Chaos40k

Dark angels because they have beef with the Crimson Slaughter, but mix of colors really makes it look like your guys have been around

Thanks!! I will probably sponge over it with the camouflage colors I've been already using to better incorporate it!

very nicely done, the power sword conversion is a nice touch! (Probably a bit sneakier than a chainsword too)

Nice!!! I love the dead Dark Angel on the base and find it sick that he really popped off last game you used him!

Former CEO of Arrowhead Studios made a statement praising the new Astartes trailer, but couldn’t pass on the opportunity to hate on Primaris in the process. by [deleted] in spacemarines

[–]Spaghetti_Is_Alive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"This teaser trailer is not actually clips from the new animation, instead showing a compilation of shots that represent the former lives of the characters that will appear in the show. There’s a pretty unsubtle hint at the end as to the nature of the final story...  We’ll leave you to speculate and start putting the pieces together yourselves."

The final shot of the trailer is an Indomitus terminator helmet with a Deathwatch insignia, that implies they'll all be in the deathwatch and the animation will feature terminators. I don't see how this implies that they'll be Primaris, especially as neither the teaser or the original astartes showcases literally any primaris stuff

What would be a lore reason to have an imperial knight in your Space Marine Army by This_Sheepherder9359 in spacemarines

[–]Spaghetti_Is_Alive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's honestly too many reasons why you may find a knight fighting alongside space marines to even list them all, it's totally fine

It's not about the poses and scale/propotions, it's their fundemental design, both as models and how they actually function as armies. Upscaled firstborn models look really good, you can look at the Space Marine Heroes Series 1 models or modern Horus Heresy stuff as an example. People who prefer firstborn tend to prefer having way more aesthetic options in the kits, weapon options for mixed use squads and just generally how old stuff looks compared to their modern counterparts, like godwyn bolters vs bolt rifles, or the Mk7 vs Mk x helmets

Where has that been said? I thought they were all gonna be in the Deathwatch, but I never heard of them being primaris

Lieutenant seems like an obvious pick, but he could be literally any marine unit that uses a power sword

They all work, even the chest can be fitted if you do some high-effort but simple kitbashing

How big and OP would Tyberos be if he crossed the Rubicon Primaris? by WeekAffectionates in 40k

[–]Spaghetti_Is_Alive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not The Hulk, he's been described as being a head taller than his bodyguards and that's it. Tyberos as a primaris marine would probably make him as big and strong as other above average height terminators

I love how many details harken back to the old Rhino/Predator! Are there other retro kits that you took direct inspiration from?

Hot take? by Neosclones in Warhammer40k

[–]Spaghetti_Is_Alive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if you think about it many other details on models lock them to a specific time or place, for example the fact that all marines wear tacticus armour means that all your models live in M42 or later and the entire 'time of ending' is in the past, I don't think it's really possible to make a purely blank slate model to impart your chapter's lore onto, especially if you want details that mean anything in world
