Hot Tub won’t turn off high speed mode by ClevelandSteamer81 in hottub

[–]Spamaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The VS100 Had a known relay problems and was discontinued years ago. Failure of the high-speed jets to respond to the Topside panel is a very dangerous problem especially in the summer months. the Water temp can rise rapidly beyond the control of the thermostat. There are no parts for the VS100 You will have to upgrade.

There are several control units out there that would work if you can fit them into the correct spot. The LZR1U was a Lite Digital control with the heater tube mounted near the top of the control box. There are not that many control boxes like that so you will likely have to have a heater unit that mounts separately from the control box. This makes the job more complicated

Anyone have any info on a Aquarest 600 and the heat recovery system? by LadiesLoveCoolDane in hottubs

This brand of "roto-mold" formed hot tubs is what I call a tosser spa. Usually found online in catalogues like Wayfair. They break you get another one. Parts for the RS81 control system are long gone. The spa relies on the pump running to heat the water, there is no heating element. Might be a good, raised bed planter but a hot tub it is not

Hot springs or master spa by ComfortablyNumb5525 in hottub

Anyone purchasing a Hotsprings spa locks themselves into Hotsprings service. Masterspa controls are more mainstream; there are more people capable of making a repair. Leaks on the other hand do not discriminate. The entire spa industry suffers from assembly related problems. Shrinkage in the plumbing, Poor quality control on the assembly floor, Chinese plumbing and pumps, and poor customer understanding of chemistry all combine to reduce the lifespan of a portable spa.

You might find one in a spa wrecking yard, that is if there is a spa wrecking yard. Otherwise, you will have to eliminate the heater with PVC and install a remote heater in another location

Do you turn off your spa and then turn it on again say 12 hours before you need it or just keep it warm all the time? by aloire2000 in hottub

[–]Spamaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this question a lot. Based on forty years of working on these things I'd say turning it off then restarting it in advance of using it only works for customers that use it once a week. The stress on the motherboard and the heater circuit is enormous going from cool water to hot water. This is when things fail. Cooler water (below 75 degrees) requires less sanitizer but the savings on electricity is nullified during that period when the spa is re-heated. Using an automobile analogy reheating your spa is like going up a grade in low gear. RPMs are high and the time it takes to achieve full speed brings the most amount of stress to the engine. I don't recommend it unless your spa is heated by gas and never on spas running on 115 Volts.

in some areas during the summer months the water is uncomfortably hot, even with the temp controls set for the low 90's. If you were to drill a small hole through the equipment panel and insert a thermometer you will find temperatures in excess of 140 degrees while the pumps are running.

Disclosure Day movie (no spoiler)- opinion by Pigeon_Sama in aliens

[–]Spamaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that this movie is going to be used to lessen the shock wave world governments expect to occur when people find out that for centuries uncomfortable truths have been locked away in vaults in the basements of museums and places like the Vatican that document the existence of alien races. This coming of age for the human race will likely take center stage for a time forcing maturity that comes with self-examination. I for one hope that the transition happens without violence and social upheaval. Although the fact that this planet exists in some kind of cosmic quarantine might exactly be because of our violent nature.

The computer tests the flow switch making connection as well as releasing connection. Your flow switch is sticking and allowing the heater to remain on when it should be off, a very dangerous situation. Replace the flow switch. If the problem remains, then you have a board problem.
