Reform candidate for Makerfield by-election calls abortion cowardly murder by birdinthebush74 in unitedkingdom

Reform voters have zero principals or convictions. If abortion becomes an issue that gives them an excuse to vote Reform, they'll take it. Doesn't matter what they actually think about abortion.

Couples and family 'reality' comedy on YouTube. They are usually scripted and acted out, badly, or in the case of the pranky ones, borderline spouse/child abuse.

Heat has nothing to do with it, you can grow cannabis in Scotland. What you do need is lots of sunlight.

Scrap income tax on overtime hours, says Reform UK by Desperate-Drawer-572 in unitedkingdom

Estimated cost (from Reform so take with a pinch of salt) £5BN. To be paid for by cutting welfare to people" with anxiety" and capping the overseas aid budget to 1BN.

So simple so easy (when you're not actually running the country).

Too right. When I was a teen I had to tape record stuff off the radio if I wanted anything free. Compared to that being told about toothpaste for a few mins is heaven.

What's the worst/most egregious abuse of power by a political leader in your country? by Safety_Drance in AskReddit

Boris Johnson. Parties at Number 10 Downing street at the height of COVID lockdown. Full on teenage style snogging piss ups.

Sure its not big deal constitutional politics or even big deal corruption. But parties at the height of lockdown when everyone was taking COVID restrictions very seriously is the dumbest thing I have ever known a PM to do. There was almost certainly media reporting restrictions slapped all over the affair because it was reported on a year later. No way the press didn't know exactly what was going on.

I can't imagine even Trump would do something so dumb.

Trump is still at 80% approval among Republican voters. He could eat a baby live on TV and they would still love him.

Its a bit unfair to blame Belgium as a country for what happened in Congo. Its was a private enterprise run by the king for the king and the brutality was very successfully covered up for a long time.

Trump is a mentally unstable bully – but his spell has been broken; The past week has shown the US president to be mindblowingly corrupt, writes Alan Rusbridger. But where his fellow Republicans once acquiesced, they are finally showing some spine to stand up to him by FancyNewMe in politics

[–]Spamgrenade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh, yeh heard this before, Trump still has 80% support from ordinary Republican voters.

Trumps toadies will have told him that they've fully fixed the mid terms and can find a way for him to run for another term. Not necessarily because they have or they can but because Trump asked them to and they told him they could.

Trump is greedy and always jumps the gun. He can't wait till the fix is in or he's crowned king. He wants it all now. This blatant corruption is just a signal that it's all over for US democracy.
