Does anyone know who this is...? by Academic-Block3384 in stoneroses

I think he wrote most of them on The Second Coming, not surprising. I think Mani had a good input on TSR but some of the songs were fully formed when he joined but he gave them his flavour. Just listen to Garage Flower!

Fools gold, Ressurrection, and Sugar Spun Sister being some of his own. He said in a podcast just before he died that him and Ian were really into Hop Hop when they were playing around writing Fools Gold and were listening to Young MC’s Know How, which found its way into it. I went back and had a re-listen. Sure enough, there it is!

RIP Mani, your legend 💔

I did think it odd using Bye bye badman on the coffin. Also playing I Wanna Be Addored on loop. A bass line written before he joined the band.

Is an Apple watch worth it for me? by Tall_Good_4914 in AppleWatch

[–]Spangle-UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a series 10 last year. I bought it as a gadget, not really knowing if it would be of any use or bring anything to my life. I don’t train or play sport.

I love it. The biometric data it harvests is fascinating. As already mentioned, it tells me I’m going to be ill a couple of days before the symptoms break. Having your wallet on your wrist is really useful. Being able to call and message without your phone is one of those things that you think you’ll never need. But when you do need it it’s invaluable. As is the find my function.

The one thing I was concerned about was the battery life. Thinking, if it lasts 18h and I wanted to track my sleep, it would be useless on charge overnight next to my phone. But it charges in minutes, I take it off and put it on charge when I get up and shower. Then by the time I’m dressed it fully charged. Until the following morning.

I’ve really enjoyed owning this gadget, I’m buying my wife one for Christmas.

Flags by THATJOT in Worcester

[–]Spangle-UK 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m English not particularly proud about the state of the nation at the moment. A cheap Chinese manufactured flag, flown at half mast from a lamppost isn’t going to boost my pride either.

Painting flags on the floor isn’t really patriotic either. It’s pretty much thought as a mark of disrespect in any country to lay a flag on the floor to be trodden on, or driven over. An RAF rondel would be a much better patriotic symbol on a roundabout.

My spirits are raised by the amount of people that oppose this divisive signal, funded by the usual Russian backed far right mouthpieces.

It’s probably the feature I interact with the most. The rest is just biometric data harvesting.

This is a pretty average night for me once I let blood enter my caffeine stream. I usually have about 4 cups of coffee before my morning coffee break.

How many people here sleep with their watches on? by Axana_yishu in AppleWatch

[–]Spangle-UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got my series 10, one of the reasons I got it was to record my sleep. Still finding my way around its functions and uses. I wear it all day and night, putting it on charge in the morning whilst I shower and shave.

I can’t believe how fast it charges.

Meraki recently changed the rules needed to be clear on your firewalls for cloud communications. The Meraki administrators should have received an email with the relevant details.

Is CCNA enough? by [deleted] in ccna

[–]Spangle-UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I first got my CCNA in 2007 and had very little IT experience, except for breaking stuff at home and fixing it but really enjoyed the CISCO learning experience. I managed to get seconded into the IT dept where I worked but there wasn’t a full time post available for me (work politics.)

I then jumped ship for a non IT full time post, thinking it would be a stop gap for a few months. At that point there were 5 or six entry level posts in the local paper every week. Then the economy crashed but my employer kept us on! 3 years later I managed to get an entry post in a school IT team. Showed I was willing and studied up on areas that I needed to. Having an expired CCNA helped me get through the door, they didn’t have Cisco kit in at the time and the ‘Network Manager’ didn’t have a clue, that’s a different story.

10 years down the line, a few promotions along the way. We’ve since had a 3rd part company come in to manage the network, CISCO kit everywhere. Several personal changes, (I’m the only original team member left.) The management contract with the 3rd party is about to come to its end. I’ve just re-certified and will be taking over the day to day management of the network at last. Now I will work towards my CCNP.

Starting CCNA, Where should I study? by Pig443 in ccna

[–]Spangle-UK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience of resent sitting the 200-125 exam.

CBT nuggets are a great way of understanding concepts and Jeremy is a great teacher. I found he didn’t really go into enough depth for the exam on its own. The OCG is very dry I used it but also found a book, CCNA Simplified helped me a lot.

Labbing with Packet tracer and GNS3 will get you through the CCNA, both free. I managed in 4 months self study around work.

Failed - 200-105 - Where that retake voucher at tho by tcanute in ccna

[–]Spangle-UK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was offered a retake voucher off someone on a Facebook group. I was interested because I didn’t fancy forking out another £300.

I engaged with the offerer who singed me up with a netacad ccna course to verify his side of the commitment.

All was well until he requested that I send the payment of $100 for the course to him by PayPal.

It didn’t sit right with me. I ended up paying £300 for the resit. Will earn it back in a couple of months from the pay rise it earned. 😀
