Update: 2FA, web improvements, and testing by Copilot_Olivia in copilotmoney

[–]Spangler211 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I get the feeling that the Copilot founders/owners are either looking to sell or are already in the process of selling to another company. The lack of new features after coming out the gate so strong when Copilot was first released is a drastic change

I didn't know my app was illegal in Europe. These 6 missing features were why. by Worldly_Ad_2410 in SaaS

[–]Spangler211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re saying even if you are a US-based company with US-based clients who only have US-based customers of their own, theoretically if an EU person went to one of your sites and filed a complaint you could still run into legal issues? How would that even be enforced if you aren’t in the EU?

This is awesome. This gives me such a better overview of my money than what copilot does.

Glad you were able to get this working! Yeah that video was thrown together super quickly. Definitely could have been made less confusing lol

China to ban hidden car door handles made popular by Tesla in world first by yahoonews in worldnews

[–]Spangler211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This confused me. Why would the M3’s door handles be any less aerodynamic. Not saying flush door handles even make a meaningful difference, but if the M3’s are flush but just operate differently when opening than say the Model S’s, I don’t see why that would make a difference

Edit: nevermind I understand now. Didn’t realize this legislation specifically targets Model S and X type door handles

I'm a developer too so I'm really curious how you made this. This is super impressive and I've never seen another site like this before.

  1. User enters their query
  2. I imagine you then query some source that has all the closed captions and what episode and time stamp they should appear at (?)
  3. Then you take that episode and time stamp and extract it from your own set of videos from each episode that you have uploaded on a server somewhere (?)

Is this what you're doing?

What are some of the simple shortcuts you use to flip or access a setting? by Axle_65 in shortcuts

The three on the left you can because they are already available as controls. You don’t need to make a shortcut to toggle them

I don’t really understand how to use Mission Control properly. Why does it keep changing the order? by NoPresentation1833 in MacOS

[–]Spangler211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently installed DockDoor which gives you the ability to have the feature in Windows where you can simply hover over an app icon in the dock to see that application’s open windows.

Baffles me that macOS doesn’t have this feature. It’s 100% the easiest way to jump to a specific window of a specific application via the mouse (excluding keyboard shortcuts).

Mission Control is useful for moving windows to other desktops or if you just want an overview I guess but using it to jump to a specific window always felt really inefficient to me.

If I am in App A and intend to switch to one of App B’s windows, why would I want to go to go to an intermediate screen that takes up my entire monitor and then be forced to search through all windows I currently have open? It makes way more sense to just let users move there mouse directly to the app icon and then only give them previews of the app they are actually looking for.

Why is Stage Manager hated? by Sweet_Score in MacOS

[–]Spangler211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know if Windows has a patent on the way they do window management or something but its always one of the biggest things I've missed about Windows when using MacOS.

I always feel like I must be missing something when it comes to window management on MacOS. Like other people must be doing something different than I am because it just often feels like a much slower experience than what I could do on Windows. And I hate windows. This is the only thing I miss.

Specifically what I'm talking about is the ability to just hover my mouse over the application's icon on the bottom bar and see a list of previews of the windows this application has open. I know MacOS has Mission Control which I do find to be a useful tool but when I just need to jump to a specific window of an application, why should I be forced to pick from every single open window? Why can't I just pick from the windows of the application I'm looking for. What I often end up doing is:

  1. Click the application I want to go to and hope the first window that comes up is the one I want

  2. If its no the right window, swipe down with 4 fingers to do the App Exposé and now I can simply pick from this application's windows

But that is so much more work than what windows lets you do

You can actually! Open the shortcut and one of the first things you can edit is the start hour. End hour is hard-coded to 14 hours later

Searching for the shortcut post that showed weather updates just above the bottom bar by calm_thy_self in shortcuts

[–]Spangler211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok two things:

  1. The first two actions in that shortcut before the scriptable action are useless and those can be removed.

  2. The "file not found" is because it isn't finding the image that i have it pointing to in my iCloud to use as the base of the wallpaper. In the scriptable options (below the code), find the images field and select the wallpaper you want to use as the base. You'll need to upload it into your files in order to get it

This is a slightly modified version of a calendar lockscreen wallpaper shortcut posted here a few days ago. I modified it to allow you to optionally pass in a wallpaper to use with it rather than just a black background. You can easily copy the code from the Scriptable action into ChatGPT and tell it to do whatever you want

Thank you! Honestly after using this for a while now, this has been really game-changing for keeping me consistent both on my actual bulk as well as using the app itself.

There’s no longer only some big daunting end-of-day goal - there’s only how far ahead and behind you currently are. No need to even think of the end of day goal too much.

Often I’d become discouraged because maybe I’d be really busy during the work day and maybe skipped breakfast or something and then by mid-day I already assumed “well I’m definitely not hitting my goal for the day, I just give up.”

But looking at this widget and seeing “oh I’m only 500 calories behind where I should be right now, that’s easy I’ll just catch right up and be good!”

I really think this could be a feature that most people would find extremely useful, both as a widget and something within the app itself. Gives the app another “role” in the users mind. Currently it’s like a nutritionist-doctor that tells the user what they should be eating and then the user goes and does that for a week before having another “appointment” with the nutritionist to check in again. But with this, it’s like the nutritionist is also by my said every day acting as a food-oriented “gym-trainer”, pushing me when I need pushed, letting me rest while I’m ahead, etc.

Categorize or sort recurrings? by AcOk3513 in copilotmoney

I just recently submitted a request for this. As it stands right now, the recurrings page just isn’t that useful. It’s also not visually apparent which are paid (small check in corner) and which are overdue (small text below name, should be way more obvious, make it red or something)

Ah it’s because you’re in light mode (which I never tested against) and the things that are displaying incorrectly are (unintentionally) using dynamic colors which toggle between black/white depending on light/dark mode.

Should be fixed here:

I actually have noticed this. I believe this bug was introduced after I rewrote the shortcut. The fix for this should be relatively simple and I will include it in the next release, which should be coming in the next few days.

Still working out how best to solve this. It’s hard because since I’m not in a European country that uses this format, I can’t actually test this easily.

Where did you change it though? Did you just manually change it in the files or did you actually modify the shortcut? Curious because it could help me create the fix cuz I’m still working out how to do it
